Thursday - Hot and Sunny

I woke up very early this morning, somewhere around 5 am. F wasn’t in bed. I’m not sure if he got up then and ate something, or if he went to his onsen. I fell asleep again and didn’t wake up properly until 7:30. I had to make a trip downstairs and then I went back to bed. I slept! I did oversleep a little, but I was up much earlier than yesterday, probably because I had set more alarms than yesterday.

I got up, dressed and went downstairs to get my breakfast. I came back upstairs to eat and then watch the news. A couple of hours later, I went downstairs to get my lunch. K was around for a while. I think that when I first went downstairs she hid in her room! The TV was on for a while and then it wasn’t. She’s a funny old duck!

I took my lunch upstairs and ate while watching an episode of The Closer. It was the second part of a Christmas episode where some of the cast and a suspect had to drive across the US in an RV! It was fun.

After the news at 4 pm, I watched a few more YouTube videos and then F phoned after 5 to say he was on his way back. I asked him to stop at a store and get some marmalade and he planned to stop at a hardware store too. I went downstairs to start dinner too.

Tonight I was busy! Last night after we went to the grocery store, we met a former neighbour who gave us 4 packets of green beans and some pea pods. I prepared 2 packets of the green beans tonight. I got them ready and cooked them. F showed up with the package I was waiting for. Apparently, the post office was delivering it as he got back.  Yay!  Unfortunately, he had forgotten to get the marmalade so he went out again and got some! It was for the green bean sauce.

Tonight I did a lot of food! I made some cucumber sticks, washed some mini tomatoes, plated some potato and macaroni salad, cooked some chicken, washed the salad and cooked the green beans after I topped and tailed them, then made the sriracha-orange marmalade sauce for the beans. Whew!

F was planting some new plants that he had bought, so dinner was a bit late, but happily, he came in before it was ruined. We all had a good meal. I enjoyed it anyway!

I did the dishes afterwards. I had done a few before dinner, so it wasn’t as bad as it might have been. When I was finally done, I offered F a can of root beer and he accepted. I brought the root beers upstairs and I had one. It was so good!

I opened my package and it was my shiny new passport. It was quite nice to see. It’s very modern, with lots of safety features too. The biggest thing for me was looking at the inside front cover and they talked about the King instead of the Queen. There won’t be a reigning queen for a long time unless something terrible happens to the Royal Family.

I had a quiet evening in. I watched a bit of YouTube and then at 11 pm The Rookie: Feds again. I have to admit, the show has grown on me. I don’t love it, but I don’t mind it. I crocheted a few rows of my dishcloth. It’s doing well. It’s a very pale pink, and the fabric is working up to a nice density.

And basically, that’s it for my day. It was very hot up here this afternoon, so I turned on the AC. It was nearly 30 degrees up here so I feel I was justified. Coldwise, I’m feeling much better, but my voice is nearly gone. I’m not sure why it’s attacked my throat, but it has. I had to text F to come downstairs tonight, I told him that I couldn’t shout like normal!

Well, that’s it for me. Not sure what I’ll get up to tomorrow, although I should do more laundry and I will have to cook more beans! Wish me luck with that!

Until tomorrow….
