Monday - Humid and cloudy, some rain

Happy Canada Day!

I woke up this morning to an empty room. F had gotten himself up and off to work this morning. I felt sad for him, but not too sad! I made a trip downstairs and then went back to bed for a few hours. I did oversleep more than I meant to.

I went downstairs and grabbed my breakfast and came up to eat. I watched the news and relaxed. I had a fairly quiet afternoon. I didn’t do the laundry that I should have done though.  

Later in the afternoon, F called to say that he was going to come by the house to rest for a couple of minutes. I asked him to bring some milk and he obliged. K has a habit of using a lot of milk after I’ve been to the store! 

I had my lunch but since I was a little late I didn’t have time to watch any TV. I did check though, and sure enough, The Closer is gone. Sigh. 

F called around 5:30 to say he was on his way, so I went downstairs and started getting ready for dinner. Tonight we had chicken drumsticks in the air fryer, boiled potatoes, cucumber pickles and salad. F and K had some mini-tomatoes as well.  Dinner was a little late tonight, but it was good when it happened. Most of the chicken and all of the potatoes disappeared, which was gratifying. 

I did the dishes and even though I’d done a few beforehand, it seemed to take forever. I didn’t finish until 9pm. That was a little sad.  I said goodnight, went upstairs with a can of root beer, and enjoyed the heck out of it. 

I took a shower later on and then came back upstairs. I watched a new programme on Prime that a friend was looking forward to seeing. Unfortunately for her, it was a comedic look at a historical character and time. She had emailed me earlier to say she didn’t like it much, I watched the whole episode but wasn’t terribly impressed. I have other shows that I’d rather watch first, so I might come back later, but, not anytime soon. 

That’s about it for me. I had a decent day. It was cooler today, but oh so humid. After I finished in the kitchen tonight I was soaking wet…and only some of it was from washing dishes!

Sadly, I didn’t really get to do anything “Canadian” today to celebrate. Maybe next year?
