Sunday - Hot, Sunny but a bit cloudy
I woke up rather late this morning. F had got up early, but hadn’t turned on the AC for me. I was lying in bed and didn’t really wake up for ages. I didn’t even run downstairs for ages.
After 11am, F started talking about lunch and we tossed a few ideas around. I did suggest we go to the Grand El Sun as he had to pay for the tickets to the Beer Garden we’re going to go to at the end of the month. He didn’t really like that idea, but I think he could see the sense of it. We had a lovely lunch there. I had the pasta, which today was nama ham and vegetables in an oil sauce. It came with a starter plate and the drink bar. F had a more expensive lunch, the meat lunch. It was roast pork and it came with the starter plate, focaccia, soup and his main. He also got the drink bar too. We both liked our meals, and even added on a plate of their home-made nama ham. It was very nice.
After lunch, F needed a bank machine, so we went to one, and then went to a drug store. I wanted to get a few things. I bought some Japanese anti-perspirant…I hope it works! I got a few other things and then we came back to the house for F to take a quick shower. He had scheduled himself a massage for 4pm. I was off to the mall for a little retail therapy! F drove me to the mall and let me out, then he went off to his massage.
I got a few things at the hundred yen shop, a little at the grocery store, and I looked around the foreign import store and some of the others. Then, I went into Doutor and had a glass of decaf cafe-au-lait. I enjoyed the heck out of that!
F surprised me by not phoning me and just showing up in the coffee shop when he was done. I got him a drink and myself another one.
When we were done, we went off to do some grocery shopping. I was a little mean and pushed for F to stay in the car. It takes me twice as long when he’s there and I usually can’t get all the things I want. I went in the shop, but it wasn’t good. They were out of everything I wanted, or very close to it! No salads, no prepared veggies for stir-fries, there were only 5 cucumbers left and they weren’t good ones, there weren’t many tomatoes either. Most of the bentos and prepared foods for tomorrow’s lunch for K were gone too. Sigh. I don’t like that store anymore. When my ex-student ran it, it was great, now, not so much.
We delivered the bento for K, I put the groceries away and then went upstairs. A little while later, F and I started discussing dinner places. F would suggest a place, I wasn’t too into it, and vice versa. We decided we’d try to go to a nice Chinese restaurant. We drove over and they had lights on inside, but the shades were down. That basically happens with the next couple of places we tried. We finally ended up at Kappa Sushi. We did have to wait a while before we were seated. The sushi was okay, but not great. I thought we’d have a cheap dinner, but F kept ordering more food!
We came back to the house when we finished our meal and then came back to the house. I relaxed and put on my pyjama bottoms and got ready to watch something on TV. F wanted to go and get himself some beer, so he left. I watched an episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Today was the one where Buffy found out the truth about Angel. Oh dear.
And that’s about it. It was a much better weekend than last weeks were.
Tomorrow I hope to do a bit of laundry and I have to get serious about my column! I’m trying to decide what to have as the focus.
Anyway, I’m out of here. Come back later if you like and hear all about my Monday. Until tomorrow….
