Tuesday - Hot and Sunny, Dark Clouds
I woke up this morning and thought that F had left the house. I got worried when I saw his wallet and then I also spotted his car keys so I knew that he was still here somewhere. I turned on the AC as it was so hot as well.
I went back to bed and F came up to the room to get his stuff and then he left. I tried to snooze, but didn’t really manage. He texted me a bit after 10 to tell me that he couldn’t leave the doctor’s until 11 so I had a little time. After a bit, I got up and dressed, I looked at my computer for a few minutes, but F came back right after 11.
Of course, F wanted lunch right away so we left the house. We didn’t really have a plan in mind…well, at first we did. He wanted a soba restaurant. I said okay as it is a good place. Then he remembered that it isn’t soba season so didn’t want to go. He wanted to go elsewhere for noodles but I said no. We were going to go to a hotel for their restaurant. I asked F about budget and he wanted cheap and made a rude crack about how I like expensive food. Actually, I like GOOD food and not cheap crap like he eats. Anyway, I ended up suggesting going for sushi and he wanted to go to Kintaro Sushi. It is the best keiten sushi place in town so I said okay. We went and did have to wait about 20 minutes, but did get in. The restaurant was very busy and we were glad that we got in when we did! We had some very nice sushi and enjoyed our meal.
After eating we went over to Komeda Coffee and had some iced coffee. All too soon, F wanted to leave and go back to the house. I was a tad unhappy about that. I wanted to stay out and about, but he didn’t.
Back at the house, I went upstairs and he stayed downstairs. I’m not sure what he was doing, probably watching the Olympics. He came upstairs sometime around 5 pm and didn’t say anything to me. At first he napped and then he spent time on his computer.
After 7:30 I finally went and asked him if we could go and have dinner. It turns out that he hadn’t made anything for his mother so he did that. It took about 20 minutes and then we went out.
We went to Gusto and were able to get in right away. We did have an odd seat, right in the midst of the old smoking section. I had the Thai plate that I’ve had a couple of times now. It has yellow rice, green curry, some fried chicken in a spicy sauce, a salad and some mango. F had chicken with garlic sauce. We both had drink bar today.
A little after 9 I had to ask F to get moving and get ready to leave. He wanted me to do the check out which is now by machine, a self-checkout. I put it into English, but he kept bitching at me and really annoying me so I was rather frustrated with him.
Then, he wanted to go back to the house! I told him that we couldn’t go back as we still needed to buy groceries. We went over to the grocery store and I went in. I picked up a few things and just enjoyed being by myself and being in a cool store for a while. I paid and then left.
We came back to the house and once again, F stayed downstairs and I went up. I relaxed for a bit, changed into my PJ’s and then F did come upstairs. I watched Resident Alien and then turned off the TV at midnight.
All day F and I have been a bit passive-aggressive with each other and it’s been quite stressful and honestly, hurtful. He doesn’t want to talk to me and since he’s always listening to something on his phone or computer, he doesn’t want to listen to me either.
Tomorrow I’ll be back on dinner duty again and I need to at least start thinking about my next column. I hope it isn’t too hot tomorrow, but who knows.
