Sunday - Dark, cloudy and cool with a little drizzle and snow
I woke up the first time around 9, went downstairs and then returned upstairs and went to bed again. F woke me up after noon. Oops. I really didn’t want to sleep that late, but so what. I got up and got dressed. I suggested to F that we go to Arpeggio for lunch since we haven’t been there in a while. He said it was a good idea, so we got ready to go out.
We went to the Post Office first to pick up my parcel. As always, F parked at the wrong side of the building. I don’t know what is going on in his head sometimes. There was parking available on the side of the building that I could go in, whereas where he parked I’d have to walk all the way to the other side outside in the cold. He did actually drive around to the other side for me. I got my parcel and it was bigger than I expected.
We had lunch at Arpeggio and both had the same thing! We had the sasame chicken, or chicken cutlet teishoku. It was really good.
When we finished, we did some grocery shopping. F was tired and he wanted to go to bed so I tried to go quickly! First up we went to Gyomu Supa. I got a few things for the family, but not so much for Christmas, sad to say. I may go again before Christmas if I can. We followed up Gyomu with a trip to the regular grocery store. It was hopping busy today. I forgot to pick up a couple of things, but I think I did get enough for the next few days.
We came back to the house. I put away the groceries and F went upstairs to rest. I followed soon after and spent some time on my computer. I also opened one of my teas and made myself a couple of cups of it. It was wonderful. It’s called Decaf Carol and it’s a Christmas tea from Lupicia. That’s a Japanese company and they make fabulous tea. Most of the tea I drink comes from them!
Finally, around 5:30 I decided to go and have a nap. I turned off the big overhead light in the bedroom and got into bed. I set my alarm for 45 minutes and then went to sleep. I extended it ten minutes longer and then got up. I went downstairs and then I got redressed. I also had to fill up the kerosene tank in our heater as it was empty.
We talked about dinner. F suggested going to one place, which was fine, but sadly, was already closed. I came up with a couple of other ideas and we decided to try them. We ended up at Kappa Sushi and had a fairly decent meal. I liked what we had, I would have liked a bit more fish, but it’s okay.
We came back to the house later and I remembered that I hadn’t bought either eggs or coffee creamers for myself. Darn. Hopefully, we can survive until Tuesday when we go shopping again! F was very nice and ordered dinner for K and me for Thursday night when he has a work party. I’m really glad that he did that.
The rest of the evening was very quiet. I didn’t turn on the TV at all this weekend. I’ll try and catch up with one programme tomorrow.
I’m not sure what I’m going to get up to tomorrow. My left arm is quite sore, and my right arm is a little itchy from the vaccinations. I’m sure I’ll be better tomorrow, maybe! F never has any reaction so he doesn’t really get it.
Come back later if you like and hear all about my Monday. Until tomorrow….

I love Lupicia too, they have really nice tea. I love their Assam. They have a store in Australia now and an online presence so I can buy from there. The tins the tea comes in is so pretty too.
Ooh, there's one in Australia? I know there is a branch somewhere in the US too...maybe Hawaii? I don't usually get the tins unless I'm giving it as a gift, it's cheaper without them!
I have a bag of Assam that I bought in Sendai two months ago that I haven't opened yet. I'm looking forward to it. I ordered their Rhubarb & Strawberry online since they don't seem to stock it in the store anymore. (I tried two different stores and nada.)
Thanks for visiting :-)
Good on you for getting your vaccinations! I have yet to get mine. Like you, I get the itchy arm at the injection site and I hate it! A pharmacist I worked with told me to ask for a longer needle since I have large upper arms. With the shorter needle the vaccine was going into fatty tissue and not muscle, causing a reaction and maybe making the vaccine not worth a well.
So now I always ask for a longer needle. It does help some, but I wonder if you could even request this in Japan! Anyway, be well!
Interesting about the longer needle. I wonder if they would do that, or if they've even heard of that here. My arms are still quite hot at the injection points but I'm nearly better I think.
I didn't get a Covid shot for a year so I was a bit nervous. I was supposed to get it just before going to Canada last year, but didn't. It was a pain to book then and F couldn't book it for me. Then, I got Covid when I got back, so I don't think I could for a while anyway. Anyway, I'm now boosted, so yay!
Thanks for visiting :-)
