Tuesday - Colder and with snow flurries, windy at night
I woke up first around 5 am. F had disappeared from bed but had left his alarm on. I assumed that he had gone to work early. He sometimes goes to the onsen before work. However, he didn’t! He came back to bed a few minutes later. I told him that I turned off his alarm and he turned it back on.
I woke up again a little before my alarm went off. I went downstairs and then came back up to the room and went back to sleep. I woke up again a bit later and dressed. I went downstairs to get my breakfast and then brought it upstairs to eat.
I had a quiet morning and afternoon. I did a couple of loads of laundry and hung them up. I grabbed my lunch and watched another episode of The Walking Dead. I had seen this one before in Canada too. I only thought I’d watched two episodes, but it must have been three! I don’t have that many left to watch, so that’s a good thing.
F called around 5:30 and I went downstairs to start dinner a bit later. Tonight I cooked coro-coro steak and steamed vegetables. I added some cheese to the top of the veggies when they were cooked. It was nice but a pain to clean up afterwards. We had salad and potato salad as well. There was rice left over from last night, so we had that too. Dinner was good. F thought the meat was too salty, that could be on me.
I did the dishes afterwards and listened to my podcasts. They were okay tonight. It was a bit hard to find ones that I wanted to listen to.
I came upstairs when I finished, and F followed soon after. I watched some YouTube and F came in and presented me with a big box. He had found it outside the house. It was from my sister. She sent me a few things for my birthday. Yay for that! I waited until midnight to open the box though!
I watched some TV, just FBI: Most Wanted and then turned off the TV. After midnight I opened the box and my sister was very generous to me. She sent me an electric peppermill, a microwave popcorn popper and some yarn. Hurray for that! F gave me a box of chocolates which he admitted that he bought me for Valentine’s Day, but felt guilty about not buying me a present. It looks like good stuff this year.
Tomorrow I’ve requested that we have yakiniku for lunch and then have a nice dinner. Unfortunately, the first place I chose is having a closed day, the second only wants people in groups of 4. They won’t let us in as a couple…which is terribly weird in my opinion. It’s a winter thing apparently. F suggested a Japanese restaurant for tomorrow night. It’s one that he’s never been to and I nicely put my foot down and said no. The last thing I want to eat on my birthday is Japanese food. On his birthday, sure. On our anniversary? Of course. On my birthday, the one day when my choice should be respected!
So, hopefully, I’ll be here tomorrow night. I’m not completely sure where we’ll eat dinner. I might let it be a bit of a surprise, we’ll see.
Come back later if you like and hear all about my day. Until tomorrow….
