Thursday - Hot and muggy
Today was a good day. I woke up when my alarm went off. I was on the way to the washroom when I realized that K was bopping around downstairs. I waited until she was out of the way and then went downstairs. I came back up to the room and went back to bed for about 45 minutes. I didn’t sleep, but I did relax.
I got up and dressed. I was going out, so I found some of my clothes and put them on! When it was a bit after 10 I went downstairs, used the loo, brushed my teeth and then headed out. K had the TV on and was cooking something but she was nowhere in sight. I left the house, locking the door behind me.
I hiked to the bus stop and waited. I checked the app and it said that the bus was running late, about 4 minutes. That grew to 5 or 6 a couple of minutes late. It finally appeared and I got on. The bus had quite a few passengers over the ride, and they got on and off at unusual stops too. When we got near the station, which was my getting off point, I saw a city bus and was a bit worried it was my bus. It wasn’t.
I only had 5 minutes to wait today before my bus arrived. It was fine. I also managed to get on the bus safely this time. I didn’t catch my ankle getting on the bus. Hurray. My ankle still has a bruise and a bump from the last time!
The ride out to the mall was fine. At the mall, I got off the bus and then used the loo. I decided I’d have lunch first, trying to beat any lunch rush. I went to McDonalds again. I had the Chicken Tatsuta set and it was okay. The “Burger” seemed awfully small though.
I did some shopping at the grocery store and even looked upstairs at the clothing. I tried a few things on and everything fit, but I didn’t buy anything. There was one shirt that I might see if they still have it on sale in a few week, but I really didn’t need anything. I made a deposit at the post office bank, I checked out the hundred yen shop and then I decided to go to Doutor for a nice drink. I had a decaf ice cafe latte.
I went upstairs when I finished my drink and bought tickets to go and see Thunderbolts* again. I got my popcorn and drink and then went in. I enjoyed it just as much this time. I know I probably shouldn’t have gone again, but I really enjoyed myself.
When the movie was over, it was nearly time to meet up with F. I walked over to the other part of the mall. He hadn’t called yet, so I decided to get yet another drink. I had a filled up point card in my wallet, so I went to the cafe and cashed it in. I got a milk tea and she put some boba in it. It was very nice!
F called a little later and then met me at the Food Court. We decided to share an order of takoyaki again. We had the yuzu-negi ones and they were very nice.
F wanted to get some soil, so he went into the hardware store to get some. I stayed in the car. We came back to the house and although I had planned to cook dinner, I didn’t really. K had made some Bamboo stew, F’s sister had also dropped some off yesterday, so F heated it up. I contributed some salad and also some mini-croissants. K liked those a lot! Dinner was okay, but honestly there wasn’t enough protein for me. Also, F did that Japanese thing where he used 8 billion dishes. He did that weird thing where he just disappeared at the end of the meal so I got gifted with the 8 billion dishes to wash. Thank you so much dear!
After I finished the dishes, I found F and asked if we could go out soon. We needed a few things for tomorrow’s meals. I changed and then we went out.
We went to Mina and I went in. I bought a few things for K and some meat for the bamboo stew that K made. I paid and I also asked (and received) the last of the free bowls that I’ve been keeping the stickers for. Yay me.
We came back to the house and I put away the groceries. We went upstairs and at 11pm I watched Yellowstone. It was an interesting episode. Beth got herself arrested, it was a dumb move from such a smart lady.
F and I had a few chats over the evening. We spent a bit of time together and he finally went to sleep. I’m headed off to bed soon too.
It was really hot today for May. It was around 25℃ which is a bit hot for me! I guess I was lucky I was in an air conditioned mall.
Anyway, that was it for today. Tomorrow, the struggle to get laundry done and work on my column continues! Come back later if you like and hear all about my day. Until tomorrow….
