Monday - Rainy, hot and sunny too

I woke up this morning a bit after 10. I got up and went downstairs, then came back to the room. I didn’t go back to sleep although I did go back to bed! I read a bit of my book on my phone, I skimmed through a few apps and then decided to get up and get dressed. 

I went downstairs and talked to F in the living room. We talked about going out for lunch. After checking how he felt and how his stomach was, I asked if we could go for Indian food. It’s one of my favourite things, but when F’s stomach is wonky, it isn’t fair to make him go. He said he was okay, so I went back upstairs to change and a few minutes later we went out. 

We went to our usual Indian restaurant and had a nice meal. I wanted to try the special of the day but it ended up being in a red sauce. I was worried that it was full of tomatoes so I swapped with F. I ended up having Saag Keema Curry and he had my Chicken and Chana Curry. We had them with naan, salad and soup. We also got hot chai afterwards. I suggested ordering samosa again, but F wanted chicken wings instead. They were good, but honestly, I’d rather have had samosa. I can make chicken wings, but I can’t make samosas. Still, they were good, so I’m not really complaining!

After lunch we were going to go for coffee. I suggested S-Mall, and we went over there but the coffee shop was really busy. The ice cream shop was really busy too, so we decided to leave. Instead, we went over to a little older style coffee shop halfway across the city. We went in and had coffees. F had hot coffee and I had an iced coffee. It was really nice…quite refreshing.

From the coffee shop we went over to the hardware store where we bought something to deal with all the bugs that have infested the kitchen. It’s driving me crazy. I’ve never seen it be this bad before. Then, we went to the pet section where F bought some shrimp for his fish tank. 

We came back to the house and I came upstairs and relaxed for a bit. It was hot upstairs so I turned on the AC and stripped off my outer clothes. F came up after a while and then cooked for his mother a bit later. I had hoped to go and see Bridget Jones’s Diary tonight, but I decided not to pester F about it. 

He relaxed on the bed and I was watching YouTube so we didn’t go anywhere for a while. Around 8pm I suggested we go for dinner. We did. We ended up at Gusto.

At Gusto I had the pasta dish that I like, the lemon cream pasta with shrimp, ham and avocado. It’s very nice. F had a Japanese style noodle dish that he didn’t complain about so that was good. We shared some fries and both had the drink bar. 

I told F that we needed to leave before 9:30 so we could go to the local grocery store…it closes at 10pm. However, we didn’t leave the restaurant until after 9:30. I made the decision to go to the 24 hour supermarket, the barn that is MaxValu. When we got there, F decided to come in with me. Eye roll. He wasn’t too bad today really, but I find it so annoying that I ask him to do things for me, but he doesn’t listen. Also I asked him questions and he didn’t hear me tonight which was also annoying. 

I think we got enough for dinners for the next couple of days, lunches for me and breakfasts for F and K. We also got a bento for K for her lunch tomorrow. I hope she eats it. 

We came back to the house and put the groceries away. I remembered to put out the plastic garbage and asked F to take it to the station tomorrow morning. He said he would (but then he took it out tonight. Shh! Don’t tell anyone!) He needed to do some ironing, I needed a shower. I toyed with the idea of skipping it again, but it had been a few days and it is summer! I took a late shower and came back to the room after midnight.

F was in bed of course, but not asleep when I came back to the room. He’s back at work tomorrow and I’m back on dinner duty. I hope to do some laundry tomorrow as well.

Oh, and if you have been following along for a while, it is ten years today since F was bitten by a wild cat and ended up spending 10 days in the hospital!
