Tuesday - Warm, sunny, rainy at times
I had a lovely quiet morning today. I didn’t get up at my first alarm or even my second. Oops. I did get up later, went downstairs and then came back to the bedroom. I sorted my laundry out and left today’s in the laundry basket. I went back to bed for some videos, reading and then snoozing.
I got up later and dressed. I went downstairs with my laundry and proceeded to put it in the machine. I grabbed my breakfast and took it upstairs. However, the laundry was done before I got down to eating my breakfast. I went downstairs to get it and brought it upstairs to hang up.
I had a quiet afternoon catching up on the YouTube I missed the weekend. I was late going downstairs to get my lunch, but finally did. I watched an episode of The Great British Sewing Bee while I ate. It was good, all about the 80’s but some of the clothes were weird!
F texted me around 5 pm to ask if I wanted to go to see the fireworks at Yunohama this week. I suggested going on Thursday. I might do something like sandwiches for dinner and use paper plates so we can leave early. If we don’t do that, I’ll be stuck doing dishes forever!
F called after he finished work to say he was on his way back. I asked him to bring some cucumbers as the ones in the shop last night were soft and not appealing.
A little while later I went downstairs and got to work. It was hot in the kitchen and there was a mess to clean up as usual. Not sure how F leaves the kitchen in a mess when he doesn’t find it that way. I was stupid and didn’t turn on the AC as K wasn’t using it today. I got overheated in the kitchen and I was sweating much too much.
Tonight I made another quick stew. I peeled and cut up some potatoes and boiled them, plus half a carrot. I cut up an onion and a few mushrooms and added them. I let it bubble away for a while and added some spices and sauces.
When I thought the stew was ready I called F down and asked him to help with the rice. He put it in the bowls and I added the stew. We ate most of the stew tonight, save a bit for K’s lunch and also my lunch! The stew was great if I’m honest.
We had dinner and it was nice. F had made a mistake with his rice and hadn’t put enough water in it when he cooked it, so it was a little dry. I didn’t mind with the stew over it.
After dinner, I cleared the table and washed the dishes. I listened to my movie podcast and finally got done. I had turned on the AC when we sat down to dinner so the kitchen was a tad cooler.
I went upstairs after I finished. I brought up a bottle of sports drink for myself and suggested to F that he bring up the ice cream he bought for us (but not for his mother) when he came upstairs.
He was lovely and did so. We spent a few minutes together enjoying the icy treat and I sipped my drink.
The rest of the evening was quiet. I watched some YouTube and then made some microwave popcorn before 11pm. Unfortunately, most of it didn’t pop! I came back upstairs and watched FBI: International and ate the popcorn. When the show was over, I went downstairs and repopped the unpopped popcorn in my popcorn popper. Most of it popped this time but it did get a little overdone. I still ate it though.
And that’s about it. I had an okay day. I’m debating going out tomorrow and seeing a movie that’s in town for its 25th anniversary. I had hoped we’d see it on the weekend, but we didn’t. I’ve seen it, I even have the DVD somewhere, but taking the chance to see it on the big screen….If I can get myself roused I will do it!
