Saturday - Rainy and cloudy, cooler

I woke up this morning around 7 and went downstairs. F was awake and in bed. He was on his computer again! I went back to bed and fell asleep.

I woke up again a bit later. I went downstairs. The house was empty. F had told me that he might go and have a haircut after he took his mother to the day service place.

He came back a few minutes later while I was getting dressed. He suggested going over to Sakata for yakiniku, but I reminded him that there was a good yakiniku place in Tsuruoka and we could go there. Which we did. I finished dressing and then we went out. F was a bit cranky because he thought we were too late to get a table at the restaurant. It gets very busy sometimes. I told him that we should check it out first and see.

We arrived at the restaurant and there were spaces in the parking lot and I could see empty tables inside. Yay. We went in and were seated right away. We had a very nice meal. We did one of the lunches and F made them both bigger for us. The food was good, but the service was honestly subpar for that restaurant. The waitress just plunked our drinks on the table, didn’t ask who wanted what and then later plunked down the food too.

After our lunch we went shopping. F wanted to go to the big hardware store for fish food and I wanted to get some fertilizer for my plant.  We bought our stuff and then headed off in another direction.

I had asked that we go to a drugstore and F obliged. We bought a few things for the house and personal things for us. In the store I asked F if he wanted to buy us a drink here or if he wanted to go out for a drink and he said go out.

We decided to go to Cafe B-Flat. It’s quite a nice place. There were customers when we arrived, but when we left, we were the only customers. I had an iced cafe latte. It was good, but sadly caffeinated. F had a cup of Vienna Coffee and he liked that too.

We went back to the house and I made the off the cuff comment to F that we’d have to get the heaters ready soon for the house. He agreed and said that he’d pick up some kerosene later. He waited downstairs for his mother to come back and I went upstairs to do the computer thing.

I had a quiet afternoon. I watched some YouTube, I played some games on the computer and I just chilled.

F did ask me if I wanted to go and get kerosene with him when he went, but I said no. He wasn’t planning to go anywhere else so I didn’t see the point.

When he came back, he filled up the hot water heater and left some kerosene in the closet for later. While he was gone, I started clearing the area around our heater in the bedroom. Over the summer, some of my stuff had migrated very close to it. I moved it and checked that we still had kerosene in the machine. We did.

F suggested dinner at Nagomi, the soba/udon place that I used to like but am iffy on now. The food there is good, it’s just that F forced me to go there too often. That was annoying. I said yes to the restaurant tonight and it was fine. We went in and were the only people for a while. The menu has been changed and my favourite dish isn’t there anymore. That was sad. I had the Niku udon tonight, F had soba (which he complained about) and we shared an order of tempura. It was a nice meal.

We did a little grocery shopping after our meal. F wanted stuff for his mother’s meals tomorrow, I wanted some coffee creamers and we bought a few other things. F picked up some rice as well.

We came back to the house and F made rice for tomorrow. I went upstairs again and relaxed. I ended up turning on the heater in the room as it was a bit cold. I watched FBI at 11 and enjoyed it. I did a little knitting and crocheting while I watched the show. Yay me!

And that’s about it for my day. It’s been quiet, but F and I went out quite a bit so that makes me feel good. I’m not sure what we’ll get up to tomorrow, hope you’ll come on back and find out!

Until tomorrow….
