Saturday - Cloudy and rainy all day

I got up this morning at a reasonable time for a Saturday. I actually overslept by 15 minutes because I knew that F wanted to leave by 11am. I got up, dressed, had a quick breakfast sandwich and then we left.

We drove to the Kamo Aquarium and were lucky enough to get a parking space near the aquarium entrance. Woot. We went in and went to the restaurant. F ordered our food at the machine, but kind of messed up, so he only ordered one lunch instead of two. However, the lady at the counter took his ticket and his extra money and we got two lunches. We found a table and a little while later had our lunch. We had some cooked fish (very nice, my favourite) plus some sashimi, rice, vegetables and miso soup. There was also some chawanmushi and tofu on the tray. It was good.

We did a walkthrough of the Aquarium, possibly the last one of the year. The Aquarium at Kamo will close at the end of the month for 6 months while they renovate the facilities. I’ll miss it, but I’ll look forward to the “new” Aquarium next year. The beasties were very cool as ever.

We left the aquarium and bought drinks at the vending machine. We had nothing to do for a while, so we drove back to Tsuruoka and then went to Cafe Studio Cinq for drinks and a treat. F had coffee and a caramel cream puff, I had a Darjeeling tea and a coffee cream puff. Very nice!

We left and went back to the house. F stayed downstairs to wait for his mother and to clear the table for the visitor, I went upstairs and chilled out with my computer.

Around 5 pm I went downstairs and soon after K’s Social Worker/Care Manager came by. We had a nice chat and made an appointment for next month. I don’t like her coming so often, but apparently that is how it is done here. Oh well.

F gave K some food for her dinner and then we went out for ours. I had suggested going to the restaurant in Kushibiki, so we drove out there. Unfortunately, it was closed when we got there. There were still people inside, but they had closed. We drove back to Tsuruoka and F suggested a place that he likes and I really don’t. I didn’t want to go there, but I drag F to restaurants that he doesn’t like, so I figured I owed him one. We went to Midori Shokudo.

We got a table and sat down. We ordered similar things. I had the curry with kara-age, F had the curry with tonkatsu. To be honest, it was huge when it arrived. There was much too much food. And we both ate it all! We felt stuffed afterwards.

We hit up a grocery store for K’s breakfast and then came back to the house. F came upstairs and went to bed immediately. He slept for hours! I watched some YouTube and then FBI. It was a good episode about AI and drones. It had the guy who played the Penguin in Gotham in it and he looked completely different. I wouldn’t have recognized him if it wasn’t for his voice.

After midnight the TV went off and I did my end of day computer stuff. Around 3 pm F woke up and got up. I think he’s still full, I know that I am!

Tomorrow I hope that we’ll go and see an old movie at Machinaka Kinema. We might go to a concert in the evening, but I sort of hope not. We also have to go and get our usual groceries and such as well.

Come back later and find out what we actually do. Until tomorrow…..
