Monday - Rainy and cloudy
I went to bed quite late last night and I slept in late this morning too. I woke up briefly around 9:30 and F was still in bed asleep. I was surprised about that as he always gets up early. Not today.
I went back to bed, F got himself up and cooked for his mother! I slept on for a long while and then dragged myself out of bed. I got dressed and waited for F to see what he wanted to do today!
He came upstairs a bit later and we talked about lunch. We decided we’d try the place that was closed yesterday to see if it was open. Surprisingly, it was. We went in and were the only customers again. We ordered Katsu-don, which was the special of the day. I liked it, F didn’t!
After lunch, we went to the gas station and bought kerosene for the house. We use it for heating and for the water heater. F filled up the tanks and then we came back to the house.
I was tired and headed upstairs. I spent time on my computer and then F came upstairs too. He went to bed and I did too. However, F was being a snuggly bunny and I didn’t get any sleep! He left after a while and I decided to try and nap for half an hour. It didn’t happen. F came in 20 minutes later and I knew I wasn’t going to get any sleep.
I got up, redressed, and went back to my computer. I stayed there for a long time!
Around 7:30 I sent F a text and asked if we were going to do our shopping. He came upstairs a couple of minutes later and said that he’d just made his mother some dinner and it was okay for us to go out now. Yay. He wanted to go to Nagomi for dinner. I didn’t really want to go there, but said it was okay. We got ready to go.
We drove to the restaurant but it was already closed for the evening. F’s second choice would be closed by the time we got there, so we decided to go to the udon chain restaurant. We were able to get in and ordered some food. F had a plainish udon dish with some tempura, I had a new dish that had some spice and garlic with bean sprouts and meat. It was a bit spicy and I tasted that garlic for a long time afterwards!
After our meal we went over to the Mina shopping area and went to our grocery store. F helped me by bringing in our meat trays and milk cartons to recycle.
I did the shopping and I hope I bought enough stuff! I think I did but time will tell.
We came back to the house and F made rice for tomorrow’s dinner and then started to iron his clothes. He irons them partially to dry them as he left them in the washing machine a bit too long. I put the groceries away and then went upstairs. I checked the kerosene in our room upstairs and decided to fill up the tank. I took it downstairs and filled it up. Then, I filled up the tank in the living room heater. There was some in there, but this way we don’t have to worry about K running out for a bit. I also checked to see if there was any barley tea in the fridge and there wasn’t. F rarely makes more and he didn’t this weekend. I set up a jug on the table to brew overnight.
I came upstairs. Normally on Monday I take a shower, but I decided to skip it until tomorrow night. Instead, I decided to watch the first episode of the new Emma Thompson show on Apple TV, Down Cemetary Road. It was quite good and the episode ended on a real cliffhanger. I got a bit of knitting done during the show too, so that was good!
I turned off the TV after that and watched some YouTube and got some of my internet stuff done. It’s been a quiet night, but quite nice.
Tomorrow I hope to get some of my laundry done and I’ll be cooking dinner again. Now that it is November, I also need to think about my column and Christmas Cards. I’d like to get some of them done early if possible.
