Friday - Sunny and warm, torrential rain at night

F had asked that we go out for soba for lunch today. He’d actually asked a couple of days ago so I said sure. He’d also said last night that he’d like to leave around 11:30 so I had to get up before then, obviously!  I woke up this morning before F got up, and before my alarm went off. I went downstairs and then came back to bed. I had a bit of a snuggle with the mister and then I went back to sleep and he got up.

I slept on and did wake up a bit later when my alarms started going off. I got up and did a pedicure and then I went downstairs to see F. We decided we’d leave in a few minutes. 

We drove out into the wilderness around Tsuruoka and finally came to the soba restaurant. It was very busy. One of the features of this place is they have a pickle buffet! Around here, they make pickles out of everything so it is very popular. After we were seated, F and I had the same thing, ten-zaru soba, so cold soba with tempura. It was nice, but personally I missed the protein. One shrimp doesn’t really cut it for me.

We left and then went to Komeda Coffee. We went in and stayed for quite a while. I had an iced coffee and it was really nice…caffeine free of course. 

We came back to the house and I went upstairs. F was going to change the water in his fish tank. Oh, by the way, K had gone out in the afternoon with F’s sister, so that was nice for her. While I was upstairs, I watched an episode of Elsbeth. Yay me.

A little before 5 pm I went downstairs and soon after the Day Care Manager came. It was a bit of an odd meeting today. F talked a lot to her, I’m not always sure what he was talking about. We made an appointment for next month. Our choices were a national holiday again or a Saturday…well, considering we have to be back on Saturday for K to come back, I’ll take another Saturday. It’s quite ridiculous in my opinion. I’m not happy that two days of this weekend are dedicated to the old lady who dislikes me.

F made dinner for K and I went upstairs and waited. I spent time on my computer and relaxed a bit. Around 7:30 when F hadn’t appeared to talk about dinner, I texted him to see if he would like to go to one of two possible restaurants. He came upstairs in a few minutes and suggested one of the two places. We went off and had dinner at China House. 

Tonight I had Yurinchi and it was very nice. We seemed to be the only customers so we were fed fairly quickly. F had Liver and Nila again. Shudder. I’m not a liver person. 

After dinner we went to the grocery store and bought a few things. Most of it was for K’s breakfast tomorrow but F and I got ice cream for ourselves for tonight. 

When we came back to the house we put away the groceries and then I filled up the kerosene tank for us upstairs and took it up. I watched an episode of Matlock and enjoyed that. I’m trying to finish as many episodes of these two shows as they will leave my streaming service at the end of the month. I’m having to forget about a couple of series along the way which does annoy me.

F and I had our ice cream quite late, and then he headed to bed. I’m still up of course. I decided I’d try to take my shower tomorrow morning. I personally prefer morning showers but I rarely get to take a shower in the daytime here. 

I’m not sure what we’ll get up to tomorrow. I’m hoping that we’ll go to the movie in the evening, but who knows. F isn’t feeling well these days, his back is bothering him again so sitting in a cinema for more than 2 hours isn’t great for him.
