Saturday - Sunny and warm, windy. Gorgeous day.
I woke up first this morning around 7 am. I went downstairs and then came back to bed. F was lying in bed playing with his phone. Hmm! I went back to sleep and then woke up at about 8:40. F was still in bed next to me, playing games on his phone. I asked him if he’d made his mother’s breakfast yet. He said he hadn’t. I reminded him it was Saturday morning. No reaction. I reminded him that his mother has to go to her Day Service. That got him. He had spaced and thought it was Sunday because he’d taken Friday off. He got up quickly, dressed and went off to cook and get his mother up and dressed!
I got up later around 10. I got dressed and around 11am F and I were almost ready to go to our doctor’s office. We drove over there and F almost made a mistake about which way we drove! It took a while at the office, but after our appointment we had our first Shingles vaccine. Because F is older he gets his for free, mine was a bit of money, but I think it is worth it.
For lunch today, I suggested a few places which F did not like. He ended up suggesting going to a Chinese restaurant in Yunohama. We went there, after not going to a lot of better places. Sad to say, the restaurant wasn’t great. F had ramen that he hated and I had mapo-dofu which was okay, but was both hot temperature-wise and spice-wise. The Gyoza we shared were quite good.
We came back into Tsuruoka and went to Gyumu Supa again! F wanted some food for his mother I think. We got some snacks, ice cream for us and stuff for her dinner. We went back to the house.
At the house, we had our ice cream and also some canned coffee that we bought a couple of months ago at Muji. It was nice to spend the time together.
I went upstairs and F stayed downstairs to welcome his mother back. Upstairs, F joined me around 6 having made his mother’s dinner already. Of course he wanted me to name the dinner place again. I was rather annoyed. He just won’t think of places because he says I always say no to them. Not quite true. I say no to ramen shops and he knows that.
Finally I suggested going to Gusto but hitting up Yamaya first to get some rooibos tea and whatever we needed. After dinner I suggested going to a drugstore to get his mother some tissues.
We almost did that!
When we were driving, I noticed we were down very low in the gas tank. It was around 35 km left to drive. Insane! Why does he do that? We did go to Yamaya and I got some tea, but not quite what I wanted. We picked up some tissues there for K and also some brownies that are expiring soon.
Then, we went over to Gusto. I had the Gusto Smash Burger which was pretty good, F had the mixed grill and complained about the size of the piece of chicken! It was too small for him.
After dinner, we came back to the house, but F decided on the way that he needed more stuff from the grocery store. We stopped in at the Mihara branch of the grocery store (quite close to the house) and he got some fish and a daikon.
Back at the house, he stayed downstairs to watch a bit of TV and I went upstairs. I ended up watching an odd Apple TV show called Calls. This was the second one and it was a bit freaky. It’s the second one I’ve listened/watched and it was good.
At 11 pm I watched FBI and it was good. It was about a serial killer first and then about a terrorist plot in New York. It’s a two-parter so more next week I think.
And that’s about it. I’ve been doing my end of day things and blogging, getting ready to go to bed soon. I’m not sure what I’ll get up to tomorrow, I’ll probably have to buy proper groceries for the next few days and try to have a good time with my husband. At least I hope to!
My arm is a bit sore from the shot, but it hasn’t been too bad yet. F doesn’t have any pain on his injection site at all.
Come back later if you like and hear all about my day. Until tomorrow….
