 Thursday - Hot and Sunny

I woke up this morning around 7:20. F was still in the room and was getting ready to leave for work. I got up and made my pilgrimage downstairs. I was about to go upstairs again as F was just about ready to leave. I was able to give him his phone. He’d left it in the bathroom on the washing machine! He would have missed that.

I went back to bed for a snooze and some video watching for a couple of hours. I got up a bit later, dressed and went downstairs. I took down a load of laundry too and then went into the kitchen.

I decided I’d start by preparing the marinade for dinner tonight and also an onion boil. I went to get my recipe and….it was gone. I generally keep my most used recipes in a clip on the fridge. The clips were still there, but the recipes were gone. I was very upset.

I looked around the kitchen and then had a brainwave. I looked in the garbage. My recipe sheets were in the garbage under a local newspaper. K, in her infinite wisdom, had thrown out my recipes. Luckily, today is the burnable garbage day so I had cleaned out the garbage last night and put a clean bag in for the coming week. There wasn’t anything else in the garbage so I fished out my recipes. I fired off a text to F to see if he had any insight as to why she would throw out my stuff. He was as shocked as I was.

I did my kitchen stuff, set up the marinade and prepared my onion boil. I also hung my recipes back up where they belong.

My laundry was done, so I took it upstairs, along with my breakfast and then hung up my laundry. I ate my breakfast and relaxed with some YouTube.

For my lunch, I came downstairs and made my lunch. I had a good lunch…leftovers from yesterday’s dinner. I watched another episode of Matlock. It was okay…Honestly, just get to the end of the storyline and then do cases…I watched the news and then I turned off the TV again.

I went downstairs around 5:50 and got started on the dishes. When they were done, I made the cucumber pickle and then F came back! We had a nice reunion and he went into the living room to see his mother. I started up the air fryer to cook the onion and prepped the mushrooms that I was going to cook.

Tonight’s dinner was coro-coro steak, cucumber pickles, onion boil, salad and sauteed mushrooms. I think it was nice.

F finally asked K about why she threw out my recipes and her answers were about as odd as you’d expect. She said that nobody used them….Umm, nope. I used one earlier this week and one today! She also said that she didn’t want it to catch on fire. My recipes are on the side of the fridge, nowhere near the stove or any open fire. Maybe she thinks the fridge will overheat and burn them? I dunno. Anyway, things were quite quiet when I was setting the table.

Dinner was good and there were a few leftovers. F isn’t eating a lot at dinner…then he has a big snack later on. That isn’t good for him I think.

I did the dishes and got done fairly quickly. I told F that I was going upstairs to change, but he beat me to it! I changed and then went downstairs, but F took rather longer to be ready to go.

Finally, we were ready to go. We drove over to Mina and I went in. I bought the things I forgot to buy on Tuesday, and a few other things. I was trying to decide if I wanted to buy some ice cream for us for tonight or for dessert tomorrow night. All of a sudden, I saw F coming towards me. He was buying his adult beverage and put it in the buggy. I asked him about the ice cream situation and he agreed that both would be fine.

We went through the checkout together and packed up the groceries. We came back to the house where F actually carried the groceries into the house. I put most of them away and then we went upstairs.

I had my ice cream (choco-mint) and it was good. I also had some tea and YouTube before I turned on the TV at 11pm for The Rookie. Is it me or have they really stepped up the show this year? It used to be a little goofy, now the crimes are more serious and so are some of the storylines. They also brought back a failed rookie from last season for a visit and their guest star was David Krumholtz.

I turned off the TV around midnight, turned off F’s light too. I’ve been working on my end of day things for a while and now that I’m just about done.

Tomorrow I’ll likely do my laundry and try to get ready for the weekend. I do hope that K doesn’t try to toss my recipes again. I will not be happy if she does. Honestly, they are not in the way of anything and I don’t know why she can’t just leave my things alone!

Come back later if you like and hear all about my day. Until tomorrow….
