Tuesday - Cloudy and humid, sometimes rainy
I woke up quite early this morning, F was not in the room. I got up and he was downstairs. He was almost ready to go to work. We said goodbye and then he left. I went back to bed. I watched videos and snoozed for a while. When I woke up, I dressed and sorted my laundry.
I took a full basket downstairs and started the first basket. While the machine was working away, I got started on tonight’s dinner. I marinated our meat and then I prepared an onion boil. I stuck them both in the fridge and went upstairs. I ate my breakfast and then brought up my first load of clean laundry.
At 1pm I started watching Spiderman: Far From Home. I enjoyed seeing it again. I don’t think I’ve watched it since I saw it in the cinema the year it came out. The only time I left the room was when my second load of laundry was done. I went downstairs to get it and then hung it up.
Around 3:15 I went downstairs to get my lunch. I had some pasta from Friday and my usual open sandwiches. I didn’t watch any TV during lunch.
I did watch the news at 4 pm and when it was over, I watched a British Rock programme from the 80’s. Of special note today were Charlie Sexton and Bryan Adams….not singing together though. They were both good!
I knew F would be late today, so I was a little too. I went downstairs before 6 pm, just. I got started with dishes and then a weird thing happened. The doorbell rang and I went to see who it was. The door opened (I think K unlocked it for F, she usually does) and a Buddhist Priest came in! I’m not sure who was most surprised, me or him. We communicated a little, he asked for F, but I let him know that F was working late tonight and he left. I’m not sure if he’ll be back or not!
F arrived around 7 pm as I was trying to get things sorted. My air fryer was beeping, I was in the fridge trying to get the salad in and then a little dish fell out of the fridge and smashed on the floor. Ack! I picked up the big pieces, F did a nice thing and swept up the smaller pieces. I was running around like a headless chicken, but basically everything was ready to go. And then, F announced that he wasn’t up to dinner. He said he had a headache and was too tired.
He went off to bed and then K and I had our dinner. We had a salad, a Greek style salad with feta, coro-coro steak and onion boil. It was all really nice and it was just too bad that F wasn’t there for it. I told K that F had a bad stomach and wasn’t eating with us. (This is important later…)
I did the dishes when we were done. Both of us got a nice plate of food for tomorrow and there is some of my salad leftover as well so that was good. I finished before 9 pm, said goodnight to K and went upstairs.
F was lying in bed with the lights off when I came in. I turned on the lights on my side of the room and then relaxed with some YouTube. F got up and went downstairs to get some food. He had noodles of course!
After 10pm I went downstairs and took a shower. It was definitely needed with all of the humidity of the weekend.
I came back to the room and watched Law & Order. It was a good episode, but I’m still not sure what all of the hype is about Law & Order. I like the actors, but the story doesn’t really go in depth at all.
The TV went off at midnight and then I watched more YouTube. F fell asleep, had been asleep for a while I think.
I was in the midst of this blog entry when at 2 am there was a loud banging on our door. I went to the door and of course F woke up. It was his mother. She came upstairs at 2 am to check on F. He was not best pleased with her. They were shouting a bit, but he always has to shout at her to communicate. She hasn’t come upstairs in years, which I am happy about.
F is now trying to get himself back to sleep, and I’m just about ready to go to bed.
It’s been an odd day and I just hope that tomorrow doesn’t get any worse! Come back later if you like and hear all about my day. Until tomorrow….
