Monday - Hot and muggy
When I went to bed last night it was about 27 degrees in my corner of the room. When I got up this morning it still 27 degrees. Sigh. I dislike this time of year intensely.
I woke up this morning while F was getting ready for work but I did manage to go back to sleep until my alarm went off. I went downstairs and then came back to the room. I went back to bed and watched a few videos on my phone. I snoozed a lot too.
I got up and dressed, then went downstairs to get my breakfast. I also got a postcard in the mail today! Yay.
I had a quiet afternoon. I didn’t turn on the AC which was a mistake in a way because I didn’t do anything of note today. I had wanted to get a couple of things done, but I didn’t.
I went downstairs before 3 to make my lunch and I brought it upstairs to the room to eat. Today I watched another episode of Breaking Bad. I feel sorry for the characters, but then I remember that they are drug makers and I decide they deserve what happens to them.
F had told me last night that he would be late tonight, but he really wasn’t. He called me around 5:30 to say that he was on his way back. A few minutes later I went downstairs to get dinner started.
As usual, I had a mess in the kitchen to deal with. F boils things on the stove and boils things over to check if they are boiling. He also doesn’t wipe the stove. What the heck? K contributed to the mess too. Her favourite trick is to sweep the floor and put the dust into the plastic garbage. Today it was in the plastic bottles bag. I’m sure she does it on purpose. She also put a tin that she had opened into the plastic garbage. Sigh. I had to fish it out and wash it.
Tonight I did roasted potatoes, toaster oven chicken, mini-tomatoes for the other two, salad and cooked cabbage. It mostly turned out well. The roasted potatoes were lovely. Oh, yeah, we had some kabocha soup as well, I served it cold from the carton.
Dinner was nice and I enjoyed it. I had to do the clean up afterwards of course and I was quite hot and sweaty in the kitchen. During the cooking I had to turn off the AC, but afterwards I turned it back on. It was too hot for me.
After 9 pm I went upstairs and started to relax. I didn’t turn on the AC upstairs, hopefully it’ll be cooler overnight. I watched some YouTube, and then went downstairs and took a shower.
When I came back upstairs I watched an episode of Sugar. It had a real cliffhanger ending tonight so I should try and watch the next part soon.
F went to bed quite early. I think the heat is making him tired too. He’s sleeping now.
So, that’s about it for me for today. Tomorrow I should be doing some laundry and I also have to cook dinner again. Come back later if you like and hear if I get anything done.
