Wednesday - Snowy and cold.
When I say it was snowy, I mean that today we woke up to a centimeter or so of snow on the ground. It also snowed during the day, but it didn't stick around. As soon as the morning sun hit the snow it melted, however, this evening it was still snowing a little and there wasn't any sun.
I got up and watched the news this morning, drinking my coffee as is my wont. A nice way to start the day for me.
I had a quiet day at home for most of the time I was here. I did get moved enough to do the vacuuming. I thought about lying down until the urge passed, but finally decided to just do it!
A little bit after the dust settled, I decided to just go out. I really felt the urge to get out of the apartment. I decided that I was going to go and get my coffee. I went out and was surprised to see it was snowing a little. Just the odd flake here and there. I did a little bike maintenance and then set off on my way. I got to the mall in good time and then did a little shopping.
I got something at the hundred yen shop and then headed down to the grocery store. White Day is coming up and I had to get my husband something! (Since I make him follow western traditions I also follow Japanese ones...in my own weird way.) After that, to the coffee shop.
At Doutours I had a sandwich and a cup of Royal Milk Tea. I had mine without sugar. The sandwich was nice and I started a book that I got for my birthday, MacDonald Hall by Gordon Korman.
When I finished my tea and my sandwich I headed home. It was colder still, and quite windy. I got home and was surprised to hear our washing machine going. When I got in the apartment and checked my phone, I discovered that I'd been texted and phoned by my husband. He was off at his doctor's office but had stopped by the apartment to see me and start some laundry.
When Fumihiko came back we decided to go out for dinner. We tried to go to Togashi, but the parking lot was full, so probably the restaurant too. We went to another place, but detoured through my school to set the heater for tomorrow. The weather made it quite cold in there. We went to the new yakiniku restaurant and had a lovely meal there. I think we ate too much.
We came home via the grocery store. Fumihiko is going to cook tomorrow night. Yay. He's going to make a stew I think. At least, that's what he bought the ingredients for.
We had a quiet evening at home. I wasn't feeling too good, stomach troubles (that's ALL you need to hear about that), and we were both thinking about ways to get to Koriyama next month. Yes, surprise, surprise. I have to go to Koriyama with Fumihiko when he has his surgery. All along he's told me that I don't have to go, but I wasn't so sure. Now, about 2-3 weeks before it happens, he finds out that I have to go too. Sigh. Boy, won't that be fun? My thought was to take the bus to Yamagata city and then the Shinkansen to Koriyama. It's simple, the bus lets out just in front of the station, and we can catch the bus at the mall. Fumihiko was talking about taking the train to Amarume, transfering to a train to Shinjo, then transferring to the Shinkansen there. Ack. I'll have a suitcase at least with me, and I really don't want to be doing all that transferring if I don't have to.
Anyway, that's it for me for tonight. I'm a tad tired, so really should get off to bed. Night.
