Cloudy, muggy and finally rainy.
A fairly good and productive day. I got up early and watched the news before taking my shower. After I showered I spent a bit of time on my computer and hubby gave me some coffee. Yay. No murder and mayhem this morning as the show is on hiatus. Sigh.
We had a nice brunch in Gusto and I also got a pizza to take to the school with me. I thought I wouldn't leave the school today in between my lessons so it would be nice to have something to eat. It was.
I went over to the school and got busy. I put down the new kitchen mat that I had bought. It looks nice and is a lot nicer to stand on when I do dishes. I did a bit of cleaning and changed into my "work" clothes.
My first class went really well, as usual. She's such a nice kid. I used to think she was spoiled, but she's grown out of that now. After her class we found her mother just waking up on the new mat!
In my big class gap I washed the school's towels, I checked the other two classes of the day and I checked my set up for Tuesday. I also ate most of my pizza, read the newspaper and started a new book. It's Break No Bones by Kathy Reichs. It's great so far. A friend of mine turned me on to her books.
My other two classes went well too. The difficult one wasn't too bad today, although not terrific, and the last one was fun and we did quite a lot. She's a high school student and it's really hard to get her to talk.
I finished up and called my husband to come and get me. He came and we went to Grado for dinner. Now, today, hubby had himself some fun. He got his hair cut...not flat headed Frankenstein short, but shorter than it's been for a bit. Still, it looks okay, and he feels better, so that's the important thing. He had also eaten ramen, but not the natto that's now lurking in our fridge. (cue Jaws music)
We came home and watched Zoolander. It is such a silly movie, but silly without meanness. I laughed a lot at it, even though I've seen it before. We had a bit of quiet time before House came on. I watched it, but ironically it was an episode that I had seen before, I think on a plane somewhere.
Today is winding down. Whew. Last night I finished all my computer stuff a bit early, but wanted to finish my book before I went to bed. So, I blew through the last 20 pages or so. It was Marian Keyes' This Charming Man and I really liked it. If you're a fan of her work, check it out.
And that's it for me. Hubby wants to get up early and go out for breakfast tomorrow. He was talking about going out at 9 am...but he doesn't have to be at work until 12. Bah. Methinks he just wants me to get out of bed early. Hmm. Not sure it's going to happen.
Night!

Watermelon was the first book I enjoyed by her and This Charming Man was the second. I really enjoyed that book!
I love her style of writing, it's so unique. I think I've read all of her books in our local library (and there were quite a few) so I'm just waiting for the next one they get in! haha :)
Sounds like you had a good day.
I did have a good day, thanks.
I had to wait quite a while for This Charming Man. When it first came out it was really expensive and I just couldn't justify the cost, but last time I went shopping there was a lower cost paperback. Yay. I think I've read all of Marian Keyes stuff. Watermelon is good...I like all the ones she's done about the sisters. I even read her non-fiction essays.
Thanks for visiting :-)
