Sunday - Sunny and gorgeous, then rainy.

A good day.

We both went to bed really late last night and slept in a bit this morning. I slept in rather longer than I should have. I did drag myself out of bed before 1 pm I think, but it was a close thing really.

We had a cheap and cheerful lunch at Gusto and then F dropped me off at home.  He went to check on his mother and the repairs that had been done on his house, and I took a shower.

When he came back, we vegged for a while, and then decided to go out and look at the cherry blossoms in the park.  I was really glad to be able to go with him.  We walked to the park and then had a gander around the place.  The cherry blossoms were out in all their glory today, it was just a little windy and not terribly warm yet.

We walked into the Shrine in Tsuruoka park and were just looking around. I saw a new waterway and was having a nice look at it when a priest came out of a nearby building and came over for a chat with F and I.  He ended up taking us into a museum type of room with a lot of old dolls from the area.  The dolls were in celebration of Boy’s Day and were of famous historical men (mostly) in Japan’s history.  They were really interesting and we had quite an interesting discussion about  the different cultures and stories.  The priest asked a lot about Canadian historical treasures but I’m not sure that we have that many in Alberta. I said that the Native Canadians probably had a rich history but I didn’t know too much about them.

We left the building but it was starting to rain.  The priest offered us an umbrella, but we decided we didn’t need it and just walked home instead!  The sun was still shining, but it was raining.

We got home and then decided that we’d go to karaoke tonight too.  We decided to have dinner first.  We went to Coco Ichibanya first for some curry, then hit the grocery store for a few munchies.  Then, the karaoke box.  Yay. It felt like a long time without any karaoke, but we had a great time.  Usually we go for free time, but I suggested only 2 hours tonight, so we didn’t overdo it.  I think it was a good idea honestly.

We both sang a lot of songs. I did quite a few for the first or second time.  I sang a couple of P!nk songs, including Funhouse and did Chris de Burgh’s Don’t Pay the Ferryman.  So cool. I also found a new-to-karaoke Adam Lambert so I was really in heaven.  It was a good time.  For out last few minutes, F put on Dragostea Din Tea by O-zone.  Unfortunately, the version he picked was only in Japanese, so it was a little difficult for me, but not impossible!

We came home via the grocery store and then watched most of Eraser on TV.  I don’t know if F had seen it before, but he loved it, especially the falling out of the airplane with the parachute bit. He put on a film he DVR’d after that but stopped it to take his bath.

I managed to remember that Veronica Mars was on tonight after I’d missed half of it. However, that did mean that I got to see the last half, so that is something.

Tomorrow I’m not sure what I’ll be doing. I should get a start on my next column  and maybe do a touch of laundry.  I should also work on a bit of clean up.  So, I have lots of things that I should do, but whether I’ll do any of them is a mystery.  Night.
