Sunday - Rainy and humid.
Today was the last day of the convention so I got up early and had breakfast at the hotel. Today’s breakfast was okay. It was a little disappointing. They gave us soft boiled eggs…I don’t like boiled eggs at all, and I didn’t really have the chance to sit with my friends. Anyhoo…
Finished packing my suitcase and then arranged to have it sent home. If the weather had been better I might have taken it with me, but it was miserable and I didn’t want to pack it all over Tokyo with me.
We checked out and my roommates and I headed over to Tokyo Big Sight for our panel and discussion. We met the guest speaker along the way, she was lost, so we let her come with us. The presentation was fun and was enjoyable for the most part.
Afterwards, my now ex-roommates and I went over to another hotel to have lunch. It was the place that I was catching the bus back to the airport, so it was convenient for me. We had an okay lunch. It wasn’t great, it was buffet style and some of the food wasn’t good. I think the place went for quantity over quality.
I had to leave before 2 so I paid, went downstairs and then bought my ticket. I waited for the bus, got on and had a relaxed trip to the airport.
At the airport I walked around a little, but I’d done so much walking this weekend that my foot really was hurting. I decided to buy my souvenirs and then go through security. I did that, grabbed a juice frappucino at Starbucks and then called my husband. We chatted for a while and then rang off.
The flight home was fine. It was a little bumpy, but overall not too bad. F was waiting for me at the airport and we drove to Sakata to Kappa Sushi for dinner.
Afterwards we came home and I checked and read my email. I had over 30 to deal with, so I dealt with as much as I had to/could and deleted the unimportant stuff. We had a quiet evening. We watched Pirates of the Caribbean but both of us fell asleep at different points in it!
F went to bed after midnight and I stayed up. I just finished watching Veronica Mars…in English. Woot! I should go to bed soon as I’m quite tired and I had a long day.
Some convention highlights….seeing my friends of course, the big Saturday night cabaret and dance…and seeing one of my friends winning my shawl. She was so happy to get it too. Hurray for that! We stayed in an amazing hotel, quite seriously it might have been the nicest place I’ve ever stayed. The food was good, very delicious, even if it was on the too beautiful to eat side! I also enjoyed a couple of hours of crocheting time yesterday with some other ladies doing crafts. It was just nice to craft and chat.
I’m back though. I feel…not jet-lagged, but place-jagged. Does that make sense. I went from a gorgeous, exclusive hotel in Tokyo to Tsuruoka, and my messy apartment. Doesn’t seem quite fair. Got to go. Night.

But that's what makes the big city even better. I feel I'd hate to live in Tokyo, but every time I go...my mouth is open the whole time and I'm awestruck by all the bldgs and ppl!! So much for us country dudes eh?? LOL
I have a feeling that even the Tokyo-ites were a bit awestruck by the hotel. It really was amazing! Jacuzzi in the bathroom-bathroom bigger than my living room, fireplaces in some suites...just beautiful.
Don't s'pose I'll ever get to go there again though as I wouldn't be able to afford it. :-(
