Sunday - Hot and sunny

Vignettes from this morning… F getting up and working on the adapter for my VCR…the big earthquake that I felt around 10am, that he didn’t believe was happening-for a while…me going to the washroom and saying hello to F but he was wearing headphones and didn’t hear me!

When I got up I spent a bit of time on my computer and then we went for lunch. We went to Cafe Un Rivage again, the one that is in Tsuruoka near the station. We both had carbonara and shared an order of steamed chicken with a basil sauce. It was a lovely lunch.

After lunch we drove out to the mall to see about getting F some new socks. We haven’t been able to find any all cotton ones in the city. We got to the mall and got him some socks and also some underwear. Then, we went to Uniqlo and picked up a few more things. I got a few of the coloured tank tops and and F got some t-shirts. We walked around the mall, had a drink and then went looking for electric fans. We didn’t find any! We went to two electronic stores looking, but only the second one had any, and they were really small and not what we wanted. I wonder if F will ever listen to me. I started talking about getting a new fan a couple of weeks ago, but he didn’t take me seriously.

We drove back to Tsuruoka and went home for a while. We vegged and then a little after 6 the man from WOWOW called and F got instructions on how to set up the VCR with the adapter. Hooray, I guess. It looks like I won’t be able to set the shows that I want the old way, I may have to do it every week too. Ack.

We relaxed for a while and then went out for dinner. We chose Cocos, but on the way there, decided to go to another place. It was closed. So was the next place we decided to go so stuck with Cocos. It was quite busy and we had to wait.

We both had curry tonight. I had butter chicken because it sounded good and a friend had written on Facebook about making it today. F had spicy beef curry. We had it on rice, but ordered a side of spinach naan each. The curry was good, but the naan wasn’t really. It was soggy and we couldn’t taste the spinach at all.

We bought a few groceries and then came home afterwards. We had a quiet evening at home. We didn’t even watch much TV. I’m now watching Jonah Hex, which _is_ just as bad as I heard. Sometimes bad movies can be fun, but this one isn’t.

Anyway, that’s about it for me. I had a good day. Tomorrow I don’t have a lot of plans, but I do hope to go out. I might start wrapping presents or something too. Come back and I’ll tell you all about it! Night.
