Friday - Hot, humid and sunny
(Originally misposted as "June" 8, 2011)
An okay day.

I went to bed quite late last night, and just before I did, there was an earthquake. It wasn’t a huge one, but it left me a bit freaked out for a few minutes. I went to bed, and had a good night. I did wake up just before F went to work so I told him to have a good party and about the earthquake.

I overslept a bit and woke up later than I planned. However, it was okay, no harm done.

I had a quiet day for a while. I watched Frozen River, which I had taped a day or two ago. I really liked it. It was a story that I hadn’t seen before!

In the afternoon I decided to go out and see about getting my hair cut. I took a quick shower, ate a quick lunch, and headed out. I stopped at the post office to mail something, and then got back on my bike. Unfortunately, my stylist was busy today but I’ll try and see her next week.

I went to the mall and had some tart and an iced tea. After that, I went to the grocery store and got a couple of things for dinner and then headed home.

At home again, I stripped off my “outside” clothes and put on some cooler stuff, worked on my computer and then closed it down for a while. I cooked my dinner and put on the evening’s dvd. I had chosen to watch Let the Right One In, in Swedish with English subtitles. I chose a night when F would be away so it wouldn’t bother him or he wouldn’t bother me. Or so I thought.

I received two drunken calls from my husband from Sakata. He was leaving the restaurant and needed to catch a train. A train that I had carefully put the time of on a note for him last night. A note that he didn’t bother to put in his wallet or take with him. I wasn’t best pleased as I really wanted to watch my movie.

The movie was great. So different from everything that I’ve seen before. It was thoughtful about the Vampire conventions and yet so quiet and calm in a way. I really liked it. I don’t know if a lot of people would like it, it has some violence, but definitely not as much as you would expect. However, that might cause it to be more meaningful too.

After the movie, while I watched Glee, I received at least 2 more calls from my husband. It wasn’t a big deal, but it was annoying, especially since he seemed to want to walk and talk and I didn’t want to listen!

Hubs came home a bit after 11. He was quite inebriated and noisy. He came bearing gifts of some frozen drink which was nice. He went off to bed soon after and I’ve heard the odd muttering from him now and then.

I’m now watching Supernatural and thinking about going to bed. Just thinking at the moment!

Tomorrow is going to be a busy day. I have to have breakfast, then brunch. After that, I have a class and then a little later a dental appointment. Wish me luck with it all. Got to go! Night.

I loved Frozen River. That is my kind of movie.
I also really want to see Let the Right One In. My friends all told me I would love it.

I hope you have a good day today.

I felt a little envious of the people in the movie Frozen River because they had snow and it's too hot here...it was a great little movie. I can see why Melissa Leo was nominated for Best Actress for it.

And, Let the Right One In was fabulous. There's something about non-American movies...the pace is slower and less frenetic, and the story seems deeper. I really enjoyed it.

I know it's been remade, so I'm a bit curious about it now, but I wonder if it can come close to the original.

Thanks for visiting...I hope you have a good day too.

It was really hot day, isn't it. I usualy prefer summer to winter, but--- being in this actual hot summer I seem to prefer winter.
How was the dentist? I'll go there next Monday.

It was really hot yesterday, and today is too! I've been suffering in the heat!

The dentist was okay! She's really nice and does a good job. It didn't hurt, but now the pain medicine is wearing off a bit :-( I think I'll be okay, thanks.

Good Luck on Monday! Thanks for visiting Mieko.
