Friday - Hot and sunny, windy too.

An okay day. I woke up this morning and just plain old decided to get more sleep! I got a couple of extra hours and felt quite good when I got up for real.

I had a quiet day at home today. I marinated some pork in a mixture of garlic and soy sauce. No big deal. After that, I had some lunch.

In the morning I finally got to see Crazy Heart, the Jeff Bridges film. He was very good in it, although I’m not sure that it was really an Academy Award type film. It reminded me a lot of Tender Mercies, and not just because Robert Duvall was in it.

We got a new iron tonight. We got a gift catalogue from a friend’s wedding and finally got around to ordering from it. Our iron was one from my old school, and the temperature setting dial was broken. The new one looks nice.

I also got a postcard tonight. I posted it in the entry below this one, so check it out.

F came home at 6ish and was starving of course. He had an English muffin and I got him to toast one for me too. He very nicely did.

I did dinner tonight and it was really quick. However, F did a bunk right before dinner, again. So annoying. I asked him to check some of the potatoes to make sure they were completely cooked and he didn’t come over for a while. Grrr. Anyway, dinner was quite nice. We had garlic pork, hash browns, and salad with mini-tomatoes. Yum.

Later on, we had some Apple Pie that I bought in the grocery store. I was going to prepare it for us, but F said he’d do it. A couple of minutes after it was in the oven I started to smell something and it wasn’t good. I asked him if the pies were okay, and they weren’t. He’d burned them! He’d turned the toaster oven all the way up and hadn’t kept an eye on it. Sigh. We ate them, but they weren’t great.

Tonight was also my Glee/Desperate Housewives night. I did quite a bit of crochet on my shawl. I did about 3 rows which at this stage is good. I’m starting to think about finishing it up soon. Thinking about it anyway.

Well, that’s about it for me. It’s late and I do have a class tomorrow. It’s a later one than usual, so I don’t have to get up early, but I really should. Talk to you tomorrow night? Night!

Did you try the Nippon Ham applie pies that are sold 4 to a box for about 300 yen? They look like the cheese and meat pies I reviewed. I quite liked the apple ones, though there was little filling in them.

If those were the same ones, it's too bad that they were burned (though they are easy to overdo)!

Yes, those are the ones! I saw them in the store and thought they looked nice.

Next time I think I'll do the heating up, and I'll keep an eye on them during the process.

Thanks for commenting :-)
