Thursday - Sunny, cloudy, rainy…the whole gamut!

I had quite a different day from usual. I got up around 8 am and stayed up. I did a quick computer check and then went out just before 9 am. I biked off, went first to the post office near the station and did a payment at the machine, then bought F some stamps. He’s an airplane nut, and Japan released a set of stamps for Haneda Airport, so I bought him one set. Then, I went to Mr Donut and had a quick breakfast. Basically, I had a Frank-Pie (not a yummy sausage roll like I had in Australia, but a wiener in pastry with ketchup) and tea.

When I finished, I biked off up the street and went to the local theatre. I went to see a really dumb movie, but it was okay. I saw Battle Los Angeles (it has a slightly different name in Japan) with Aaron Eckhart and Michelle Rodriguez. It was a popcorn/non stop Alien Invasion movie. I liked it more than War of the Worlds, but I didn’t like WotW much so not saying a lot!

After the movie I went out of the theatre and it was raining slightly. I decided to go home, but to go home via a bank. I rode off and went to my bank and made a deposit. Then, I visited a convenience store and came home.

I was a little surprised because I didn’t feel like anyone had been in our apartment. Today was the day when the Fire Alarm inspections were to be done and I had decided I didn’t want to be here when they happened. Hmm. F had said they could be morning or afternoon, so I left my stuff ready to grab and go. Sure enough, around 3 I started hearing things outside, so I grabbed my stuff and left the apartment. The three men were outside my apartment and I think were surprised to see me leaving. They all stood around like idiots, so I told them to go ahead and I left!

I only went to McDonald and had a late lunch. I started reading a book too, so I really didn’t mind getting out of the apartment.

After I finished eating I came home again, and this time I knew that someone had been in my apartment. They’d left a door open that I always close. Anyway…just didn’t want to be there during it. I cleaned the lobby of the apartment building as we’d missed a week with being away. It looked much better.

F came home before 6 tonight. As usual he didn’t ask about my day, so I haven’t told him any of this. Just about buying the stamps, because I gave them to him. It feels a bit strange to me that he never asks me what I do during the day. I also think it’s a bit rude of him, and yes, I have told him that before.

I cooked dinner tonight and it was good. I sauteed miso pork from the store and served that with salad, supplemented with yellow tomatoes and cucumber. For a starch, tonight we had couscous. It was our first time having it and we both liked it. It was so easy to make. I just boiled water with a cube of Maggi in it and then added it to the couscous. Let it sit for a few minutes then fluff with a fork.

After dinner, F did the dishes and then I suggested a movie. We haven’t watched one in ages and there wasn’t anything on TV. We ended up watching Dead Men Don’t Wear Plaid, which I’d never seen before, despite liking old movies and Steve Martin. It was quite funny. I did a lot of crochet, but I didn’t finish yet. I was getting to the point where I was falling asleep on it and starting to make mistakes in my work, so obviously time to stop.

F worked on registering a postcard he got today…a really lovely one with a car on it…and I helped him and interfered when I felt like it! He doesn’t have a good feel for his computer yet. Not sure if he will in time or not. Maybe he relies on me too much? Or I’m too bossy?

F is now up late watching a soccer game. I’m blogging and yawning away. I have no idea what we’re going to do in the daytime tomorrow. It sounds like F has a few errands to run, and isn’t really too keen to do much. He’s got the party in the evening to go to, the one I’m not going to go to.

Anyway, that’s it for me. I’m going to bed soon. I’ll probably dream about the chanting from the soccer game. It’s kind of driving me crazy. Never mind! Got to go. Night.
