Postcrossing Cards - Incoming

November 9th, 2011

The problem with doing these updates in the middle of the week is that I will probably receive a new card on the next day. No matter!
Here are some of my latest cards.

The first one came from Estonia in Europe. It's a multiview of the city of Tallin, the capital. The back of the card even has a small map so you know where Estonia is. I'm afraid to say that I didn't. My geography is shockingly bad.
Estonia is next to Russia and Latvia, and across a small body of water from Finland. It is across a larger expanse of water from Sweden.

My next two cards feature city views as well. They arrived on the same day too. The first is a large card featuring old and new views of the railway station in Minsk, Belarus. I love it because I like the contrast between the old and new buildings. I like the clean lines of the new building, but there's something about the old buildings that I miss too.

This is an interesting card from Berlin. It pictures the Berlin Holocaust Memorial. It's intriguing and a not a usual city view.

My final card for you today is a treat though. It comes from The Netherlands and was the biggest postcard I've ever seen. It measures about 8 inches square and the post office didn't put it in my mailbox. They very nicely hung it in a plastic bag on my door handle. I'm glad they did as I think it would have been difficult to get it out of my mailbox without damaging it.

I don't usually do this, but today I'm including a picture of the back of the postcard. The sender put a flower on it and some stickers in a beautiful design. She even used different coloured pens to write her message. She really spent some time on it. I love the way it looks.

I hope you have enjoyed my recent incoming cards. Postcrossing is a lot of fun but it does tend to make me a little obsessive about postcards!

Just wondering if anyone would be interested in seeing the postcards that I send (after the receiver gets them) or if I should just continue with my incoming postcards?

Thanks for waiting...sorry I was late posting this but it was too late last night when I started writing this entry.

Thank you! I got some nice ones, didn't I? Okay, I'll post a few of my favourite sent ones when I have a chance. You can check them out for yourself if you like...the url is http://www.postcrossing.com/user/stellastarstruck/gallery/sent

But if I start writing about the ones I send, I'll probably talk about "why" I picked the particular card, which could be interesting for some people.

How are you doing with Postcrossing these days?

Thanks for commenting :-)

PS If the URL doesn't show up completely, make this window wider and you should be able to see it.
