Postcrossing Cards - Incoming

To February 7, 2012

Another bumper batch of gorgeous mail candy for you today. What do you think of these lovely postcards?

First up , complete with a Postcrossing stamp, is this painting of Vincent Van Gogh's L'Eglise d'Auvers-sur-Oise (The Church of Auvers-sur-Oise).
This card comes from The Netherlands and the sender likes the movie Educating Rita a lot.

This next card is from Finland. I must apologise for the big white flash mark in the middle. That is my (lack of) photography skills, not the card itself. The sender is a theologian from Lahti. The card shows the vesiurut or water organ. It's a musical fountain where water dances with music and colours. I think I saw something similar when I visited Singapore, but I'm not sure if it really is the same.

I'd love to see this some time.

The next card is definitely up my alley. This is Norma Shearer, a transplanted Canadian who made it big for a time in Hollywood. According to Wikipedia, she was largely forgotten after she retired, but is remembered for some pre-Code performances that were quite adult. She played a lot of divorcees and sophisticated ladies.
This one is one of my favourites. I love Black and White portraits and I love actors and actresses. The cream on the top is that she's Canadian. Woot! This card came from Russia where the temperature at the time of sending was -29 degrees. Brrr!

Tatiana, the sender, is a post graduate student at Tomsk State University. Thanks for an excellent card Tatiana!

My last card comes from Austria. It's a gorgeous view of Schladminger Tauern, which I believe is part of a mountain range. Wikipedia isn't terribly helpful in this case. The sender writes that she lives near this mountain in a little village. She says that it is deep winter now and everything is white and cold. She is longing for spring. (Me too!)
So beautiful!

Thanks for reading. Which of these cards do you like the most?
