Monday - Snowy, icy, rainy and yuck day

Today was a mixed bag.  Yesterday I had the crazy idea that I’d go to the movies by myself if the weather was decent.  When I woke up I looked outside and there was a couple of inches of snow on the ground.  Yuck. I hoped it might melt, and it did, but then it started to rain and I decided to stay home.  Rain and snow were the order for the day…definitely not the sort of weather you want to be out and about on a bicycle in.

It was another day that I loathe today.  The fire alarm inspection.  Bleck. Happily, I had noticed from reading my back entries that it often came around this time as we hadn’t received any written notice of it.  I got up at 9:00 on the dot this morning AND got dressed.  I made the bed and went into the tatami room and did a little rearranging of the stuff that’s there, so the men could have better access to the closets.  Yes, there are fire detectors in the futon closets.  I don’t know why.

They came in the morning and were quite fast.  They also weren’t jerks like usual.  However, they do something that I don’t think is good.  One man stays outside, and two come into my apartment.  Then, they split up.  Now, I don’t have any small valuables lying around, but I can’t watch two of them at once, and they have no witness to say that they didn’t steal anything.  I wonder what would happen if I said they took something?  I’m also not too happy with two strange men being in my apartment while I’m there all alone, know what I mean?

Anyway…I had a quiet day.  For lunch today I decided to make myself some French toast and it was really nice.  F phoned from Yamagata. He was near a Kaldi Coffee Farms store and offered to pick some things up for me, but the things I wanted weren’t in the shop.  Too bad!

I stayed home all of the day. I did think about going out and cleaning his parking space, but it melted before I could go out.  

After F came home I prepared dinner.  We had some chicken, salad and some hash browns.  After dinner, F did the dishes. 

We vegged for a bit and then went out.  We went to my school first and I set the heater for tomorrow, then to the drug store to get some detergent.  We came home and watched the news.  

At 11 I watched Harry’s Law and did a couple of rows of crocheting.  Yay!  It went fairly fast today.

And that’s about it for my day. I’m hoping the weather smartens up enough to let me ride my bike to work tomorrow, but it sounds rather bad out there right now.  I’ll walk if I have to, but I’d rather ride my bike.  Talk to you tomorrow night? Bye!
