I'm back with another interesting group of cards for your viewing pleasure. This group of 5 cards is from all over the world. If you'd like to see the pictures larger, please just click on them.
The first card comes from Malaysia and is sent by Caroline. She didn't say much, but what she said was nice. She said, "Sending you my warm Hello from land Below the wind. :-)

This beautiful card comes from Germany and was sent by Annika. She writes that she lives in Bonn, the old capital of Germany. Bonn is a nice city near Cologne. Beethoven was born in Bonn and you can visit the Kolner Dom (Cologne Cathedral) in Cologne.

This intriguing card comes from Belarus. Olga sent it from Minsk. She writes that she lives in the capital of Belarus. She says on the front of the card we can see a picture of Yanka Kupala, the national poet of Belarus. There is a beautiful big library in the form of diamond in my city...Often it can be seen on the postcard!

Year of Book. Yanka Kupala (Ivan Lutsevich, 1882-1942) - national poet of Belarus, playwright, publicist, public figure, classic of Belarusian literature. |
LJ sent this card from China. She said, "Best wishes to you, this card expresses cow ancient sculpture, mean beautiful future, I hope you like it."
This card reminds me of the toy from Fukushima, the red cow with a bobbing head. However, it is from China and is a sculpture rather than a toy.

My final card today came all the way from Brazil. Flavio wrote that there was a Post Office Strike which is why his card too so long to arrive (53 days). The card shows actor Raul Cortez, a Brazilian actor who died in 2006. He wishes me a Happy Postcrossing too.

Hmm, I'm hard-pressed to decide between the lighthouse card and the pen and ink drawing card. Both are lovely. The world post day stamp is really something special!
I was at my little post office on world post day and nothing at all was going on there. I was rather disappointed to come home and then discover that that day was world post day. I wish I would have known before I went to the post office so I could have asked if they were doing anything special.
It's too bad that nothing was going on at your post office. Are you able to tell them that you collect stamps? Maybe they'd let you know when good ones come?
I like the actor card, even though I don't know anything about him. He had such an interesting face.
I like the lighthouse card too. They are all quite nice though :-)
Thanks for all your comments today ;-)
The clerks at my local post office know me and often bring out new stamps to show me. They are really quite kind. On the other hand, I'm always bringing in packages to mail to strange places around the world so sometimes you can see them groan when I pull out a large package, but they also know that I use stamps to mail those packages. I often put 6 or more stamps on one package, so I go through them quickly.
It's a very small local post office on a rural island so I think I throw a lot of things at them that they don't normally run into. I figure it's good for 'em though and helps with "boke boushi" or preventing dementia. :-)
My post office is a little local one too. I mail packages all over the world too...I do bookmooching as well as post crossing...plus all the stuff to my family so I know what you mean! The ones that have been there for a while aren't too worried by me now, but the new staff kind of freak out at first!
And I really wish they'd learn where Scotland is! It's one of my pet beefs that they don't understand it isn't "England"!
I usually don't use stamps on the packages though...that might be cool to start doing that :-)
