Wednesday - Rainy
I wrote last night about the bread maker not working. Well, all hail the internet…I searched for solutions and found that I should try unplugging the machine for 10 minutes. I did, and then plugged it back in again and re-set it for the morning. Eureka! It worked very well. Hurray for that.
I got up this morning and watched House while eating breakfast. I love Hugh Laurie…in the nicest way possible. I showered and got on with my day.
Today I stamped a few of my Christmas cards with my return address and even wrote a few more. I didn’t do any postcrossings though. My Christmas cards sent list is getting longer. Yay.
I went to the post office a little before 5 pm. I mailed off my cards and bought a couple of new sets of stamps. It was quite expensive. Sigh.
Came back home and waited for F to return. He came a little late and we both relaxed for a while.
After 7:30 we went out to eat. We went to a yakiniku buffet place and had an okay meal. For a change, the place wasn’t crowded and so I enjoyed myself a lot more than usual. On the way home, we stopped by my school to set the heater and then the grocery store for tomorrow’s dinner.
At home I realised that Castle was on, so I turned on the TV and sat on the couch for a little crochet therapy and Nathan Fillion face time. Alas, F decided to do a little searching and cleaning throughout the entire episode. Rustle, rustle here, rustle rustle there..by the end of the show I was a nervous annoyed wreck. After the week I’ve had and the things that have been going down, I just wanted a little quiet chesterfield time. I don’t even make him share it that often.
I went and hid in the bathroom afterwards and ranted a bit. He knew he’d done something so gave me a hug later, but honestly I was so tense after the show that I couldn’t stand it.
And then, around midnight, I discovered that my student for tomorrow had cancelled, so I didn’t need to preheat my school after all. F was all for heading over there to unplug the heater, but I said that I’d rather wait and do it myself tomorrow.
So, that’s it. I’m done. A nice thing was that another member of AFWJ sent me a Gotochi card from her prefecture because I’d written about them in our Journal a few months ago. It was a lovely treat! Tomorrow, some postcards to go out and maybe some Christmas cards too. Wish me luck with everything! Night.

What a nice surprise! I just happened to ask about gotochi cards when I was at the post office the other day. No, they don't have any except the mailbox shaped one with the name of the post office on it. I will have to find out when the next batch is issued and get right out that day!
It was a great surprise!
Are there any post offices in downtown Kobe? I couldn't find any the day I was walking around! I wanted to get some cards from Hyogo, but really couldn't find any at all. :-(
Thanks for commenting.
I don't know we have TOCHIGI- GOTOUCHI cards. It sounds fun. Do you have YAMAGATA -GOTOUCHI card? The shape must be cherry-shaped.
Hi Mieko!
Yes, we do have a cherry shaped Gotochi card! I think it is really cute. There's also a Sho-gi piece, hanagasa dancers and the snow monsters at Mt. Zao.
I just looked up Tochigi and you have a temple gate?, gyoza, monkeys and a strawberry. Here's the URL for the post office website. If you put your cursor over each prefecture on the map, you can see the cards...or, click on the prefecture for more information. I think you can only get them at your post office, so the next time you are there, please look for them!
They are really popular. Lots of us are collecting them. They are a little expensive, but I just think they are so cool!
Thanks for visiting. :-)
