Another group of great cards for you today. They come from North America, Europe and Asia, and are quite interesting.  Which ones do you like?  Just click on the picture to see a larger version.

My first card comes from Germany and was sent by Lydia.  She writes from a small town near the Hart Mountains in the middle of Germany.  She told me about a statue in her town.  It is known as "the most kissed girl in the world."  It is a little girl  statue on a fountain.  When young academics get their doctorates, they climb the fountain and give her a kiss and flowers.

She notes that one of her favourite movies is Bridges over the River with Meryl Streep.  In English we would say The Bridges of Madison County.
Bookworm
This is a great card for me as I would love to be in the library or wherever that man is.  I am a bookworm, always have been!

Bryanna sent the next card from Michigan and notes that she is a fellow Canadian who married an American.  She now lives in the US, and has for almost 4 years.

She sent me this great lighthouse card from Lake Superior.  I honestly didn't know that there were any lighthouses, let alone this many!  I've never been to the Great Lakes unfortunately.
Lake Superior Lighthouses

This card comes from Tainan in Taiwan and shows an iconic image of Taiwan.  This natural rock formation is nicknamed "The Queen's Head" and is an unofficial emblem for the town of Wanli.

The card was sent by S and he says that Tainan has a lot of delicious snack and is a quaint place.  He also says that he used to be a driver.  My own husband is a driver so something in common!
Yeliou
There is a little more information about the area this formation comes from at Wikipedia.

S used a couple of really fun stamps on his card as well.  I loved Finding Nemo

and these stamps have a very pleasing whimsy about them.

This card comes from The Netherlands and is my first Christmassy card of the year so far.  It was designed by Hester Poelstra and was for Charity from Dockinga College.

Norbert sent me the card and simply writes, "From Below Sea level in NL, a fine December month and a cool 2013.

Thanks very much!

My last card comes from Germany again and was sent by Jannik. He's a young German man who loves to travel.  In fact, he wrote that he was going to leave Germany for a couple of months to travel to South America, the very next day!
He was obviously very excited about his trip.

On the card we can see views from his hometown.  He signs off by bidding me to "Stay hungry, stay foolish!"
Bernkastel Kues
Picturesque wine town on the Mosel
Thanks Jannik and I hope you have a great time in South America!

Well, there you are.  Five interesting cards.  I like each one in different ways.  The Taiwan card is so interesting.  We have hoodoos in Alberta too, but I don't know any shaped in a similar way.  I love the enthusiasm that Jannik has for his adventures, and it is always lovely to hear from a fellow ex-pat.

Until next time...I'll be checking my mail box for more lovelies to bring you :-)

I like the hoodoo one. Bryce Canyon is one of my favorite spots. The hoodoos there are awesome. Any natural wonder is amazing!
