Thursday - Sunny and clear -Yep, it's Pi Day!
I had a pretty good day today. I got up and watched some TV while I read the paper. After that, I watched more TV and had breakfast.
I had a quiet day at home. I wrote a couple of postcards for Postcrossing and then in the afternoon I scanned them. It's a little trickier because I can't use iPhoto at the moment. I have to do everything in Preview which doesn't quite have the same ability.
Today, F called me at lunchtime and asked if I'd like him to bring me a bento. I told him no. I haven't had a lunchtime to myself this week and I will be really busy next week too, so I wanted a day off. Instead, I made my own lunch. I created a pasta dish with spinach soup as the sauce and featuring some salmon. It was good.
After lunch, I went to the post office to mail my cards and buy some new stamps. I got some Winnie the Pooh stamps and some flower stamps. I probably should have got more Yamagata cherry stamps, but they come in a double pack, so I wouldn't have got the variety.
I came home, did a little upkeep on my bike and then went into the apartment and washed the dishes. I finished up a bit before F came home.
When F did come home, he immediately started on dinner. He didn't even change his clothes. Since the usual procedure is to run our errands first, and then have dinner I was surprised. He made us shabu-shabu and it was okay, but honestly, not that great. The food was fine, but I think I just wasn't hungry enough. Or something. We had a real mixture. We had pork, tofu, konnayku, spinach, shrimp and F had oysters too. I didn't want any of those.
I did the dishes after dinner and wasn't impressed. F loads up the sink with all manner of things at once. He puts in the knives with the glassware, pots and china all at the same time. I've tried to explain to him that it isn't a good idea, but he keeps doing it. I emptied out the basin and refilled it my way. He wasn't impressed and said he'd do the dishes, but I insisted!
After I finished, we ran out to get kerosene and set the heater in my school. That done, we came home and had tea and choux-creams. F bought me some yummy things for White Day. I didn't get him anything, although I wanted to.
F wasn't feeling that great again tonight, so he went to bed and I watched TV. I roused him to make him take his bath, and after he went back to bed. I decided to set up the bread maker with a herb bread mix. I set it up, so I'm really curious as to how it will turn out. I am hoping that it will be good!
Tomorrow I have a class in the afternoon. I'll have to leave here a little early as I want to run an errand on the way to my school. That's it for me. Got to go. Night!

My husband does the dishes that same way. Must be a Japanese thing. He also uses lukewarm water, which is better than cold, but not as good as hot. Even explaining the theory behind dishwashing (glassware first, greasy pans last), he still does not get it...
I have a hard time getting my DH to use hot water too. He got a bit mad at me when I took things out of the basin, but honestly...I didn't have any room to move anything. It was all slung in there together.
At my school once, he did the dishes for me to "help" me. I rewashed them all the next day!
