Thursday - Hot and Sunny
A good day.
I got up this morning but just barely. When I heard my alarm go off, I was surprised that it was already morning. Sigh. I watched the news and then watched something else off the DVR. I did my usual breakfast thing and also started the first of two loads of laundry.
The day passed. It was hot and horrible upstairs. It reached 33 for a while. I watched more of my TV but also put on the rest of the movie from yesterday. I enjoyed it a lot. Hurray.
I had lunch while I was watching the movie and relaxed a bit. I did a bunch of dishes after I finished, and then came back upstairs and watched the news. F was a little late, but called to say he was on his way. I asked that he bring me a drink, which he did. He took a long time to get back to the house.
When he arrived he wanted to know about dinner. Then he suggested cooking fish. I countered with my idea to make salmon salad from a tin of salmon. He grudgingly said okay. We had to go to the grocery store for a few items, but when we came back we got into high gear. I made F in charge of the miso soup, I made the toast and the salmon salad then cut up a cucumber and put a bit in the salad. I plated everything which is more difficult than you might expect when one’s husband is in the way. Dinner went quite well. K gave F one of her open face sandwiches, but the salmon salad went over well. I think F had no ideas what to expect with it. For all my hard work making dinner, I got to wash and dry the dishes too. Oh, what joy. I was quite annoyed. F wanted to take over washing the dishes, I don’t know why. He’s horrible at it and I often rewash them when he isn’t looking. I had hoped he’d dry them, but apparently, he doesn’t do that.
I was a bit ticked off at him, so went upstairs and sat at my computer for a bit with the door closed to the bed area. After a while, he asked if I’d like to go out and I said I would. We decided to go to Gusto for kakigori. Yum.
We went to the far away Gusto. I did have kakigori, mine was strawberry flavoured with condensed milk. F had a yogurt sundae and we both go drink bar. Everything we bought had a coupon so it was as cheap a night out as it could have been!
After we finished we tried to leave, but they were having problems with their till and they asked us to wait. We did. Finally, we could leave. We came back to the house and came in.
F took a shower and then I did. When I came upstairs I turned on the air conditioner and enjoyed the cool. After F finished in the shower, I took one and then came back up. We watched The Good Doctor together. It’s the one from last week, tomorrow we might watch this week’s one. I worked on the baby blanket I’m making and joined quite a few squares together. After the show, F went to bed and I came to my computer. I watched last week’s Castle and thought about going to bed. I haven’t gone yet, but I’m about to try.
