Sunday - Cloudy then clearing somewhat

I woke up this morning around 9:30 with F being uncharacteristically romantic. He was kissing my bare leg! He told me that he was taking his mother to the onsen.  I wished them a good time. I snoozed a couple of minutes longer but then got up and took care of some personal business.  I had breakfast and while I was in the kitchen, noticed that F had set up the bread maker. I noted the time on it and wondered if he’d be back in time for the finish of the bread. Long story short, no, he wasn’t. I came down just before it finished and took the bread out for him.

F and K came back a little later and he was in a good mood. He’d had ramen with his mother and I’d taken out the bread. Yay.  He had a lie-down and we talked about what to do today. I suggested going to the Kokusai Mura as there was an International Bazaar going on today. He liked the idea, so we had a snack at the house and then left.

Of course, our snack was so big that we weren’t hungry, so didn’t end up buying any of the yummy food on offer. I really wasn’t too upset about that as many of the foods involved noodles of one type or another. We went inside after a while and watched some Chinese Acrobats or performers, then did a quick tour and left. Or tried to. We had seen F’s niece and her husband outside. She had a booth set up and she was selling off some of her old clothes.  F and her husband chatted for a while, but finally, we left.

We had a drink in the local coffee chain. Today we tried their summery drinks. They were nice, but a bit expensive. Mine was supposed to be iced coffee with soy milk and coffee jelly. It was, but it wasn’t very cold, and it took ages to get to me. I liked it, but would I have it again? Ehhhhh? I’m not sure.

We came back to the house for a while and F took his mother to get her hair cut.  They were gone for about an hour. It was nice to have the house to myself again. Twice in one day. Woot!

When they came back, K had got her hair cut, but so had F. And…I hate it. It’s much too short and as I told him earlier, it reminds me of the haircut of a student I loathed at L’Eikaiwa so a big NOOO! from me. Still, he’s stuck with it for a while, isn’t he?

For dinner, I suggested a few places. F was in a mood and wouldn’t suggest any. I offered up good places though. I thought his mother would come with us, so was trying to be considerate of her.  F said that she’d gone for walk so we didn’t need her to come!  However, she returned just before we left, so she came with us!

We had dinner at Coco Ichibanya, the curry place. I had Spice Curry and it was quite spicy, F and K had more Japanese style curry with seafood or fish. We brought K back to the house and then F and I went out shopping.

We hit up Yamaya, especially for some decaf coffee, the hardware store for a planter and soil, the grocery shop for tomorrow’s food and then the drugstore for some personal things. We got a lot done. Woot!

We came back to the house and F went to bed quite soon.  I did up the garbage in the house and left it in the Genkan for F or his mother to take out in the morning. I also took a shower tonight. I came upstairs and wrote my lovely blog too.

That’s about it for my day. For a day that we didn’t really plan, it worked out okay. I’m loving the slightly cooler temperatures. I worry about the summer heat. I’m not sure that I can survive!

Come back later if you like and find out how Monday goes. Until tomorrow….
