Sunday - Happy Tanabata - Hot and Sunny

Despite not having much sleep last night, we got up quite early this morning.  We got ready to go out and meet my friend and left on time. We met up at the Kamo Aquarium and walked around it with her and her little girl. We spent a long time in front of the tank with octopuses in it.  For a change, one of the octopuses was moving around and it was so interesting to watch.  We got up close and personal in a way!

We had a nice lunch at Cocos in Tsuruoka but sad to say, it was time for my friend to leave.  I wanted to go back to the house to sleep, but F wanted a drink…me too if I’m honest.  We went to Doutors and had a drink, then hit up an electric shop for a mini-disc for F’s new Drive Recorder.  We came back to the house then.

I took off my day clothes, put on my pyjamas and spent the next couple hours snoozing in bed. I thought F would join me, but he didn’t. He installed his Drive Recorder and ran a few errands for the house. 

I got up just before 6 pm and dressed. F came upstairs and asked about dinner. We decided to try Kintaro Sushi, got all the way over to it, but it was so busy that we’d have to wait for ages to get seated.  Since we didn’t have time, we left for another place.

We went to Nagomi and all of us had good meals.  K had plain udon, F had udon with ume and shrimp and I had cold udon with hot duck soup.  We shared an order of tempura which was nice.

We made it back to the house before my friend arrived, so I quickly changed again and then she arrived. She parked her car in F’s spot and the three of us drove out to Yutagawa to see the fireflies. I wasn’t sure if there would be any as it was very windy, but the place where we go didn’t have much wind.  The fireflies were out tonight too and they were lovely. My friend was very impressed and enjoyed them a lot. She managed to get some film of the fireflies glowing and of the insects close up.  

After seeing the fireflies we went back to F’s house and let my friend get her car.  We all drove to Starbucks and had a drink and a nice chat. That was a lot of fun, we hadn’t seen each other in a while. F did his usual phone thing but would talk occasionally!

It got to be late so my friend left for her apartment. In the parking area, we discovered a weird thing, her license number and ours are the same!  They are different classes, but the basic numbers are the same. Very unusual we think!

F and I came back to the house and both took our showers. I watched a little telly and then started to blog this.  That’s it. You are up to date with me now!

Come back later and find out what happens on Monday with F off work. Do we have a good day and get all of the necessary things done?  I hope so.  Until tomorrow….
