Monday - Hot and Sunny
The weather at this time of year gets rather monotonous. It’s hot, humid and usually sunny. I’ve not been enjoying it at all. I know that using the air conditioner is frowned upon, but when the room temperature reaches 33 or more, what are you supposed to do?
I woke up this morning when my beloved’s alarm clock rang. He was nowhere in sight, he’d already left for work. I didn’t fall back asleep, but I did doze a bit. It wasn’t quite the same.
I got dressed and watched some telly. During my show, I heard K yell for me. Because she can’t hear very well, she keeps yelling until she sees me. It is rather annoying, to be honest. She was giving me my mail, which was nice of her, but it could wait a minute or two.
I did a couple of loads of laundry today and hung them up in my room. I turned on the air conditioner around noon as it was hella hot in here and we weren’t getting any breeze in the windows. I didn’t run it hard, I kept the temperature a little lower, not freezing.
My afternoon was fairly quiet. The couple of times I went downstairs I made sure to give K a cold drink. She doesn’t use her air conditioner. It is a couple of degrees cooler down there though. I want to keep us both hydrated so we don’t get heatstroke.
F came back to the house a bit before 6 pm. We went out for dinner with K. We’d tried to find a good place for us to go. I suggested Nagomi, the soba restaurant I like and F was okay with that. We got there and parked. When we went in, they told us that they were out of soba so we could only have udon. We’d had udon for lunch yesterday so I wasn’t too pleased, but this was quite nice. Both F and I had pork soup and noodles, K had plain noodles, and we shared some tempura.
We took K back to the house and F did a little bit of his community service thing. After that, we went out. I asked that we go to the nearest hundred yen shop so I could get more yarn. We went there. F wouldn’t wait in the car, honestly, I had promised I’d be back ASAP. Inside, they didn’t have any of the yarn I needed. Darn! F wanted a drink and he took much longer deciding which one than I did looking for yarn.
We went to the onsen tonight. F took a bath and I worked on my crochet project. I got most of it done tonight and I may not need the yarn after all. Woot.
We visited Komeda coffee after the onsen. F wanted some wifi. We were there until the restaurant closed, then went to MaxValu for some groceries. We’re going to eat at the house tomorrow night, but it won’t be too much work. It’s a boil in the bag kind of meal. Easy peasy.
We came back to the house and put away the groceries. I took a shower and F chilled down the room so much I needed a sweater. He’s snoozing now, so I adjusted the AC so it wouldn’t work as hard.
That’s about it for me for today. I’m not sure what else I’ll do tomorrow. Come back later on and see what happens. Until tomorrow….
