Thursday - Sunny and warm

I got up early this morning and tried to watch the news. However, as I’d recorded a couple of movies last night, the news didn’t record. I watched the curated news and didn’t enjoy it as usual!

I had a fairly quiet morning. I had porridge for breakfast, then watched an episode of The Walking Dead. It was an interesting one with just Daryl and Beth in it. It was good for giving him some background.

I also watched a movie that I recorded overnight. I watched Carrie Pilby and rather enjoyed it. It was about a highly intelligent young woman who was trying to find her way in New York.  Her shrink had made her a list of things to do to improve her life.

After my lunch, I went out. I did my dishes first and then got on my bike and went to the bank first to check if I’d been paid yet (yes!), then I went to a hundred yen shop, and finally on the way back, to a drugstore. It was really nice to be out and about on my own two feet (or wheels!) The weather was nice and I stayed quite far away from other people so that was good.

I came back to the house and watched the afternoon news, then a little later went downstairs and started to cook dinner. I got things ready and when F came back I started roasting and stir-frying. Tonight I did lemon pepper chicken with stir-fried eggplant, plus salad, miso soup and for F and his mum, rice. Well, I let F take care of the rice, to be honest.

It got great reviews and most of the eggplant disappeared. There’s a little chicken leftover if K wants to eat it, no worries.

I started the dishes and got about half of them washed before F came in and took over. That meant I got to dry everything. How nice for me!

I came upstairs afterward and did a couple of things. I filled up the kerosene tank in the heater and signed in to the meeting that was going to happen later.  Around 9 pm, a few of us ladies in AFWJ had a meeting using a fairly new system. It was nice to have 7 people together and all speaking to each other. The moderator had to leave after an hour, but some of us continued for another 30 minutes or so!

F was in bed for most of the meeting and I had my computer set up near the bed and I was sitting on the bed. He went past me a couple of times and later on proceeded to change into his pyjamas while I was in the meeting. I angled the computer away from him at that time, I didn’t want to get arrested!

After the meeting, I watched an episode of The Loudest Voice and then tuned in to a weird and mostly interesting film called Under the Silver Lake with Andrew Garfield. I liked it up until the ending, which I didn’t get. Maybe another viewing someday, maybe not.

And that was basically my day. I’m so glad that I got out of the house under my own steam. I’m thinking that if the weather is good tomorrow, I might go over to the park for a walk.

Oh, yes, during dinner, F put on the Japanese news and it looks like we’ll be under lockdown very soon. I actually think it is about time, but I’m dreading it too. I’m not sure how long it will last, but I’ll probably keep you posted.

Until tomorrow….
