Saturday - Cloudy and rainy

We slept in this morning. Well, I did. When I first woke up, F was playing on his computer. He said that he’d taken his bread out but hadn’t had any yet. I went back to sleep for a while, I got up in the early afternoon I think.

F plied me with some of his bread. He’d tried to make onion bread, but the onions hadn’t gone into the bread. He’d packed the dropbox so full that they were stuck in there!  It was regular bread, and very nice at that.

We had a quiet early afternoon. F checked if his mother needed food but she didn’t. I had an early piece of bread with him. Later on, I went downstairs and did a couple of open-faced cheese grills for us and brought them up. Yum.

I watched The Boondock Saints in the afternoon. I had always heard about it, but it wasn’t until I saw the listing on the internet yesterday that I realized it had Norman Reedus from The Walking Dead in it. Since Daryl is one of my favourite characters, I had to watch it. It was a highly violent film with tons of bad language. And Willem Dafoe playing a very “interesting” FBI agent! I might watch it again, I’m really not that sure if I will or not. I recorded the sequel too, but I haven’t watched it yet.

F and I went out around 4 pm. He needed to mail something off, luckily he could do it at a conbini. Then we went to the grocery store. We picked up stuff for dinner, and a few other odd bits and pieces.

We came back to the house, unpacked the groceries and came upstairs for a bit. We weren’t ready for dinner yet.

We started putting things out around 6:30. F used the coffee maker that has been sitting on the table unused for the last 6 months. He used 2 years out of date coffee, but it wasn’t opened, so was fine. We had yaki-udon, fried chicken, baby leaf lettuce, tempura mountain vegetables and a couple of leftover things from the fridge. Oh, and pickles that F bought. It was okay.

We did the dishes, but there weren’t many at all, and then came upstairs.  After a bit, I reminded F that we had planned to watch a movie tonight and he said it was fine. I went downstairs and made popcorn, and then we watched Crazy Rich Asians. I quite liked it, but I’m not sure that F did. I think I feel a bit like the young woman in her boyfriend’s culture. Not that I’m young or anything, just that I’ve had to try to figure out who is there and if they are trying to help me or get me out of here! I also did a bit of crochet and was quite delighted to find that my shawl is longer than I thought it was! Woot.

After the movie, I cleaned up the popcorn bowl and reminded F that he was supposed to try re-making the bread tonight.  He went off to set up the bread maker and then went to bed. He seems to be sleeping now, which is good. I’m still up very late!

I have no idea what we’re going to get up to tomorrow. I’d like to get take-out from one of the restaurants, but I am not sure if F is up for that or not. It might also depend on the weather.

Come back later if you like and find out how Sunday goes. Until tomorrow….
