Monday - Muggy but hot

May the Fourth be with you!

We went to bed very late last night, but I had a Zoom meetup today, so needed to be awake for that. I was! I got up, got dressed, grabbed some breakfast and put my tea on.  Yay me.  I had fun at the meeting and for a change, it wasn’t all about technology. I know that my teacher friends are scrambling to learn how to use the various systems, but I don’t really need that. 

We were in the meeting for about an hour and a half, then it was over. I relaxed for a while and then I half expected F to want to go out, but he didn’t. Oh, dear. 

I watched a bit of TV off the DVR because there was NOTHING live on TV today worth watching. Go figure, a national holiday in Japan and all the movies are in Japanese. You’d almost think this was a Japanese country or something. 

F snoozed for a lot of the afternoon, apparently, he wasn’t feeling well again. Sigh. 

Finally, around 6 he woke up and I suggested that we get out to buy bentos quickly. Of course, he wanted to go to the same grocery store as yesterday so they had the same bentos!  We didn’t get them, I got a hamburg one and he got fish and shrimp ones for him and his mother. We had a few words at the house before we left. He was thinking about getting some fish to grill for dinner. I told him it was fine but I didn’t want any. He was upset so I asked him why. He said because family should eat the same thing. That makes no sense to me. If one of us was cooking for everyone and that was all there was, it might make more sense, but I’m not a fish fan and he knows it. Why should I have to eat something I dislike to make him happy?  I told him that the whole point of going to restaurants and picking up bentos is so we can have what we want! Isn’t it?

Anyway, we went to the grocery store and picked up a few things. We came straight back to the house even though I had suggested going to another drugstore to see if we could get masks or whatever. F turned and then remembered that I had suggested going somewhere else. That always happens.

Back at the house, F put all three bentos in the microwave to heat at the same time. Good grief. We ran it through the bento setting twice and his sauce bubbled through the package. My bento was cold, so I ran it through by itself and it was better.

Of course, I once again got gifted the dishes. It’s not that there were a lot because there weren’t really, it is just that I always seem to end up having to do them. F was cleaning the bathroom so his mother could take a bath. I don’t think it needed as much cleaning as he apparently did. Whatever.

I came upstairs when I finished the dishes and watched an old Downton Abbey and then turned off the TV. F didn’t come upstairs until 10 pm as he’d been watching TV downstairs….He then took a bath. 

It’s been a pretty nothing sort of day today. I’m glad that I did have the meeting in the morning. I got up and dressed and it was so nice to see my friends.  

No plans for tomorrow which means that it’ll probably be a disaster. I hope not but I am not planning to get up early again! No reason to do that.
