Friday - Hot and sunny - Gorgeous day

I woke up this morning and got up almost immediately. I hadn’t heard F leave this morning, which was a bit odd.

I had a very quiet day.  K wasn’t around for most of the day, I think she stayed in bed. I managed just fine without her!

I finished watching Tomb Raider and then I had some lunch. I didn’t get around to working on F’s mask today, but I did get a little bit of wrapping done for my niece.

Around 4:30 I got a text from my friend to say she was on her way over. I panicked a little because I thought I had another hour! Luckily, I knew what I wanted to wear and I got ready quickly. I wore one of my new dresses from Canada with a pair of leggings. It was nice to “dress up” for a change.

I heard K downstairs and decided that I should leave her some food on the table. F had said he might be late tonight and I didn’t know if she had eaten anything today. I put out a bowl with the packets for miso soup and some rice and a can of tuna!  I showed them to her and pointed out the leftover eggplant stir-fry from yesterday. I told her to have some.  I sort of explained that I was going out with my friend for dinner. I’m sure that to her I sounded like a little kid with my terrible Japanese, but it sort of worked.

Sure enough, a few minutes later my friend arrived and we went out. It was a little early and we hadn’t decided where to go, so we went to Starbucks for a drink. We wore masks until we had our drinks and did sit quite far apart, so that was good I think!

We decided to go to Blackbird Market for dinner. I’d been there with F once for coffee and dessert, but never for dinner. We showed up and were lucky enough to get in without a reservation. We had a lovely meal. It wasn’t cheap, but it was great food, well cooked and not the usual old thing!  We had a Caesar salad to start, followed by paella with chicken and zucchini.  We had penne pasta with a pumpkin chicken sauce. That was lovely. We finished the evening with hot tea and creme brûlée.  Everything was lovely, in fact, I only have two complaints about the restaurant tonight. It was very noisy as there was a big party of salarymen in one corner, and the other was they didn’t give us milk for our tea!

After our meal we paid and left. We drove back to F’s house and she let me off. It was only about 8:30 or so, but my friend had to drive back to her city, which was about 30 minutes away. I asked her to text me when she got back so I wouldn’t worry!

When I let myself in the house, F came downstairs and we had a nice reunion. He had been on the bed, of course, watching YouTube no doubt!  I joined him on the bed for a bit of spending time together. It was all quite PG-13, more’s the pity!

After a while, I finished wrapping my niece’s presents and then I went to my computer to try to catch up on all the new stuff going on.

That was it for my day. It turned out really well. I had a fabulous time this evening. I think it is only the second time this year that we have got together, so we really haven’t been able to see each other much what with the virus and various personal things.

I’m not sure what I’ll get up to tomorrow. F is thinking about getting a massage or going to the doctor, or maybe both, so I’m not sure what I’ll do with myself at the same time.

Come back later if you like and hear all about how Saturday goes. Until tomorrow….
