Saturday - Cooler and rainy

I woke up very late this morning. I hadn’t gone to bed until 4:30 or so, so I really needed the extra sleep. When I did wake up, F asked if I’d like to go to Arpeggio and I said I would. Arpeggio is a local Japanese restaurant that we’ve been going to for about a year now. It’s quite nice and I do like the food there.

We went off and had our lunch. I had my usual, chicken soboro, a ground chicken on top of rice with an egg. It is a bit like a non-spicy gapao rice!

After our meal, we went for a drink and a light dessert to Cafe Studio Cinq.  One of the workers recognized us from his ex-restaurant, so that was fun. We stayed a while, drank our drinks and ate some very nice and freshly made pain au chocolate!

We did a bit of shopping after our drinks. We went to Yamaya. It was supposed to be just for tea but we ended up getting a few other things too. F spent more money than I did I think, so that was fun. He bought sake, I bought popcorn and tea and a few snacks. We took a quick spin through the second-hand shop next to Yamaya but didn’t buy anything.

Fumihiko and I visited the hundred yen shop next. We did buy a few things there. I got myself a pin cushion. Strangely enough, I haven’t had one here before. I got some more magnets for the fridge and a summer towel too.

We went back to F’s house after all of this and relaxed for a while. Around 6 or so, F sent in an order for some bentos for dinner, and then we went and picked them up. We brought them back to the house and ate. I had a bibinba with extra meat, F had chicken namban and K had a bento with her favourite mackerel. We enjoyed them. F and I did the dishes and I set up a new bottle of mugicha for the fridge.

I took a shower later on tonight and then watched the first episode of The Affair, season 5 I think. I hadn’t seen this one before. The show will start at the end of July again. I’m glad, I was starting to wonder if we’d see it again.

F took a shower too but has gone to bed. I really should get to bed earlier than last night! I’m not sure what we’ll get up to tomorrow, but I’m hoping it’ll be exciting or fun. Come back later and find out. Until tomorrow….
