Sunday - Cloudy and drizzly
I got up earlier today than I did yesterday. Of course, I did go to bed a whole 30 minutes earlier I think! Snort. F and I talked about breakfast/lunch places and decided on the Grand El Sun, aka our wedding hall. We went and had a lovely lunch. We had the same thing, a new dish called The Siesta Plate. It had focaccia, carrot soup, chicken, fish, chilli, salad, and even lentils. It was delish.
After our lunch, we went to the Chido Museum. My membership had expired earlier this year, but with the dread disease, we hadn’t renewed the membership. F actually pays for it, but the membership covers two people at once. We went in and had a look around. There was a bit of a sword display in the gallery, so we looked at that. F was happy as swords are one of his favourite things to see at a museum. There was a lecture going on about the swords, which I couldn’t understand, so I looked at the other stuff and then had a little rest while I waited for F. I wasn’t in a hurry to go somewhere! We went to look at the garden before we left and there were water lilies. I love this section of the museum. It's my substitute garden!
We went back to the house after the museum and had some relaxation time. F had booked himself a massage for 5:10, so I asked that I be dropped off at the mall in Tsuruoka so I could have a walk around and do some shopping/have a drink stuff. He obliged.
I had fun in the mall! I looked for a greeting card for my niece, but didn’t get one, then visited the 100 yen shop. I got a few things that I needed, things I’d been looking for, and just stuff. I decided that I’d go downstairs and wait for F in the coffee shop, so I did that.
I went to Doutors, put some money on my pre-paid card, and had an iced coffee. It was their special Yirgacheffe fruity coffee. It was a little expensive but really good. I probably could have drunk it without milk, but that wouldn’t be me. I did taste it without milk at least! F took a longish time to get back, so he wasn’t able to have a drink with me when he did finish. He got back to the mall about 15 minutes before it closed.
We decided to pick up his mother and take her out for dinner tonight to Kushibiki and the little Chinese restaurant we all like. We tried! We picked her up from the house and drove out to Kushibiki and the place was closed today! Oh no! We ended up coming back into Tsuruoka and going to Gusto!
I didn’t mind!
K had a Japanese type meal, actually, we all did really. She had sweet and sour pork with rice and miso soup and drink bar, F had a donburi of chicken tenders and veggie tempura, plus drink bar, and I had chicken tenders and a few veggies. I ordered the drink bar too and also a plate of fries to share. I managed not to let K double-dip into the ketchup/mayo mix so that was a bonus! We had a decent meal and brought K back to the house afterwards.
F and I went to the grocery store and got groceries for the next couple of days. I’m going to do a fish stir-fry tomorrow night. It’s a pre-measured thing from the grocery store, so not too demanding. I’ll probably do something with the zucchini I bought today and we’ll have a salad too. I think that quesadillas will be on the menu for Tuesday evening if all goes well!
We came back to the house and had a fairly quiet evening in. I watched some TV and enjoyed it, but turned it off after midnight. F told me I didn’t have to do that, but I really did!
And that was my day. It was pretty good. Hurray for that. Come back later if you like and hear all about my Monday. Until tomorrow….
