Tuesday - Hot and sunny but muggy
I woke up this morning around 8:30 and I got up a bit later I think. F didn’t go to work today, so I didn’t have the early wake-up call from him. However, I did have to go to work!
I got up, watched the news from early on. F asked if he could take me out for lunch but I turned him down again. I keep trying to tell him that I won’t go out for lunch before my classes. We have a history of him taking me out for lunch and me not getting a good meal out of it and I’d rather not have that happen today. He went downstairs and cooked for his mother and when they were finished, I went downstairs and got my lunch.
I brought it back up and I also turned on the AC in the room. It was getting really warm up here and I didn’t want to start sweating before I got dressed. After I ate lunch, I took my plate downstairs and washed it, plus I prepared my thermos of water. When I came back upstairs, F had turned off the AC and he was wrapped in a quilt in bed. What? It wasn’t that cold. I guess he was getting a draft, but he could have changed the angle of the wind from the machine. I turned it back on and tried to explain that I really needed not to be sweaty when I got dressed.
We ended up having words over something, I can’t quite remember and once again, F was angry with me. Honestly, he knows that I have to go to work today and I begged him NOT to take today off, but he did. It’s the local O-Bon today, but he was lying in or on the bed for most of the morning.
I got dressed and went downstairs. I took all my stuff down and put my shoes on and waited for a few minutes. I just left when the taxi came.
Again, I can’t talk about work but it went fairly well today. I’d been stressing about it, but it was fine.
I got back to the house around 5 pm but K and F were out. I came upstairs, changed my clothes, finished up a bit of paperwork and then watched the news. F and his mother came back a few minutes later.
F was still mad at me, but after a little while he cheered up a bit. We talked about dinner and I reminded F that he had thought about ordering dinner in. We decided to do that and I picked something and F decided to have that for all of us. We picked a couple of side dishes too and he called in the order. Unfortunately, the place was busy and said that they wouldn’t be able to send it to us until 7:30. I didn’t mind, but F was a little annoyed.
We hung out up here and relaxed a bit. Finally, the food came and we went downstairs and ate. F “set” the table and then I put all the other stuff out that he’d forgotten! The food was really good. I had decided that I wasn’t going to do the dishes. Heck, I worked today, why would I. F took stuff to the kitchen and started washing them, so I did help clear the table and I dried some of them.
After dinner, I reminded F that we were supposed to go out. I wanted to go and have dessert, so we went to Komeda’s Coffee and had kaki-gori. It was lovely to sit in a cool place and eat something cold and sweet.
We bought some groceries and then came back to the house. We put them away and then came upstairs. I had missed the start of my show tonight so I didn’t watch it. I’ll try and catch it tomorrow.
I did watch something off my Apple TV and then switched to YouTube. And from that to now, I’ve been blogging away and enjoying the cool since F said that we could use the AC again. He changed the angle of the wind and it is a bit better for him. a little anyway.
So, I’m not sure what I’m going to do tomorrow. I might do some laundry and if I’m smart I’ll work on lesson prep for next week too.
