Wednesday - Hot and humid, sunny

I woke up early this morning, surprisingly. I made a quick trip downstairs but when I came back to the room, F’s alarm went off so he was getting up. Of course, he’d misplaced his phone AGAIN, so I had to try phoning it until he found it. He’d left it in the car overnight. Eye-roll.

After F left, I’m afraid I went back to sleep and overslept a tad. However, once I got up, I really did get up. I did a couple of loads of laundry today and then hung them up. I also swept the stairs up to our room. I also prepped one of my lessons for next week, so I wasn’t just a couch potato today.

When F called to say he was on his way, I went downstairs and got started on dinner. Today I was doing yakitori (pork skewers), hash browns, cucumber pickle, broccoli, and salad. It ended up turning it out well. However, while I was grilling the meat, the doorbell rang. I tried to get F to come down, but I don’t know if he heard me.  K let the person in. It turned out it was a Buddhist Priest who came and did a chant at the butsudan. I was in the kitchen so I didn’t have anything to do with him.

I got dinner on the table soon after he left and we ate. It was pretty good. Much of the food disappeared. Not all, there is a bit left for K tomorrow, I hope she’ll like it then too.

I did the dishes and listened to my podcasts. I enjoyed them as usual. I almost enjoyed doing the dishes tonight as they had the air conditioner on in the living room and it was nearly pleasant in the kitchen.

We came upstairs and I took a shower later and then watched The Bold Type a bit after 11.  F had the AC on up here too and it is so much nicer than it was this afternoon.

F has been asleep since I came back from my shower and I don’t want to wake him. He hasn’t been sleeping that well these days, so he should sleep on.

Tomorrow I hope to plan my other class for next week and I’ll be on dinner duty again. I also hope to watch some of my DVR stuff.

Come back later if you like and hear all about my day. Until tomorrow….
