Friday - Hot, Sunny and Humid
I woke up this morning, got up and then went back to bed for a while to watch the news. I watched the 8:00 am news and then the early on news too. I did snooze a touch, but F called me so I woke up and decided to stay up.
I did a load of laundry and hung it up. While I did that, I watched an episode of The Walking Dead. It was rather good to get it watched early in the day. It was also rather a good episode with lots of my favourite characters. Yay.
I went downstairs around 1:30 to get a start on the pasta salad. We have plans to visit a friend on Sunday and I volunteered to bring a pasta salad. However, the salad actually gets better as it sits in the fridge, so I made it today. I also don’t know if I’ll have time tomorrow, so…..We had a bit of it for dinner tonight and it was quite nice!
After I finished, I grabbed my lunch and went upstairs to eat. I watched the news and then when F called, went downstairs to put dinner on the table. I almost got knocked over with a feather when I saw that K had the air conditioner on! She usually hates to have it on.
I didn’t do much cooking tonight for dinner. I was more concerned with plating things. I reheated yesterday’s potatoes and I made more cucumber pickle that K likes a lot. A lot! We had bought some cooked roast beef last night, so I put that out on a plate, some salad, some leftovers and a few other things. I called F but he didn’t answer, so I had to run upstairs to see if he was coming. He was fast asleep on the bed. K decided to start early and grabbed a piece of the roast beef!
Dinner was quite nice, but I was surprised just how much K ate tonight. She finished up yesterday’s pickle, the potatoes and the roast beef!
I did the dishes after dinner and listened to the news and tried to start a new book on Librivox. Unfortunately, I didn’t like the reader, so I switched books. I’m now going to try listening to The Scarlet Pimpernel. I haven’t read it for years.
I came upstairs where F was again lying on the bed, asleep, with the air conditioner on. Poor thing.
A little while later I took a shower. F has been mostly asleep for hours. To be honest, I’ll probably go to bed in a little while. It was so hot today and I feel a bit tired.
Tomorrow we’ve got to go to the doctor in the morning and then I’m not sure what else we’ll get up to. There aren’t any new movies in English at the cinema, so we’ll have to do something else tomorrow night. I hope we do something fun rather than coming back to the house and falling asleep.
