Saturday - Hot and Sunny, humid
I slept in a bit this morning, but F did too, so it didn’t seem like a terrible thing. Neither of us went to bed until very late last night/this morning.
We had a bit of a relaxing morning. F made something for his mother to eat and asked if I wanted to go out. I wasn’t hungry for ages, and we didn’t go out until after 2 pm. We went to Kula Sushi and it was okay. We ate some good sushi, some okay sushi and had some onion rings. What else can you ask for?
After lunch, we came back to the house via a drugstore and the craft shop. At the house, we just took it easy. We really did have a relaxing time this afternoon. It was too hot to do much, so we just enjoyed the AC.
F got his mother something to eat around 6:30 I think. She got another bento. She doesn’t seem to mind. If I cook for her then she doesn’t get Japanese food, this way, she does.
F and I decided that we’d go out to one of a couple of restaurants that I suggested. Sadly, both of them were full so we couldn’t go in. We came to the downtown area near the train station, parked the car, and walked to the place that a friend of F’s runs. Unfortunately, when we got there, we found that it was for rent. Sadly, quite a few of the little eateries in the building were also for rent. The pandemic has not been kind for little bars and restaurants. We walked over to the station and went to an izakaya there. We were in a corner by ourselves and everyone was taking precautions so things should be fine.
We had some good food, some okay food and some stuff that was a bit meh. A couple of the dishes that we tried to order weren’t available. F didn’t drink tonight and ordered us both oolong teas without asking me first. No reason I couldn’t drink if I wanted to! I was kind of ticked off about that. I suppose since he couldn’t drink, he thought I shouldn’t either?
We left after a couple of hours and drove back to the house. I took a shower and then watched FBI. When it was over I realized that Birds of Prey was on so I watched that too. It’s been a while since I’ve seen it and I enjoyed it tonight. It isn’t the greatest film ever, but the cast is good and it is female-driven so I’m a fan.
And that’s about it. We really didn’t do a lot today, but that’s okay. I’m not sure what we’ll get up to tomorrow either. As usual, we have no plans!
