Thursday - Hot and humid, rainy

I woke up this morning because F was walking on the bed. He was doing his last-minute getting ready to go to the hospital for tests thing. I think I said goodbye to him, but I didn’t really wake up.

I did get up a bit later, went downstairs and then came up and watched the news. I had a bit of a snooze after that and really had to drag myself out of bed.

I did a load of laundry and had my breakfast. I didn’t see a lot of K today. It was a much hotter day so she spent a lot of the day in bed.

I had a fairly quiet afternoon. I had lunch and tried to give K some food too, but she was sleeping. I tried to wake her but wasn’t able to do it. I put her food in the fridge for later.

I watched The Walking Dead during my lunch and then another programme from the non-broadcast satellite NHK channel. I watched the news and then a little bit later I went down to prepare dinner for K and me.  Now, I admit I cheated a little. F and I bought the grocery version of hiyashi chukka for K and me, and I added some frozen tsukune. I also made dessert for us, I took a small soy milk container, froze it (ages ago), and then sliced it up for us. It was a little like a Frappuccino or a granita, except it was caramel flavoured. It was nice, and very refreshing on a day like today.

I did the few dishes there were and when I was done I was so sweaty. Yuck!  I said goodnight to K and came upstairs.

I didn’t know what to do with myself at first so I sat on the bed and watched some AppleTV and crocheted a couple of rows. Then I decided to do some more Postcrossing.  I watched two episodes of The Walking Dead tonight, so that’s three episodes total today. It was enough! I got three postcards done, and tonight I scanned the card rather than just sending duplicates so I could fake it!

I watched a movie later which I’d never heard of until last night when I saw it on the channel’s schedule. I looked it up and thought I’d like it. I did! It was Fisherman’s Friend, about a group of fishermen who have a top ten hit with a sea shanty in England. It was fun.

And that is about it. I talked to F tonight. He has a sore throat from the camera going down his throat, so he sounded hoarse. He thinks that he might be able to get out of the hospital a bit earlier than he first thought. I thought that he might too. I’m enjoying my night of solitude though. Usually, I’m the one that goes off, but I haven’t taken a summer trip this year as Covid is rearing its ugly head and I have a job, so it makes planning a trip a bit harder.

Anyway, that’s it for my day. It’s been rather fun and I’ve enjoyed it. It doesn’t happen often, but having a night to myself is lovely.

Come back later if you like and hear how my Friday goes. Until tomorrow….
