Monday - Cloudy, rainy and cooler
I got up this morning at my usual time for a weekday, then went back to bed for the news and a longer sleep-in. I was awake mostly, just wasn’t ready to face the world yet!
When I got dressed I went downstairs and grabbed breakfast, then came back up to eat. I had a quiet morning, I mostly watched some videos on YouTube.
At noon, I went downstairs and got started on dinner. Today the plan was to make chicken in my slow cooker. I found a fairly simple recipe and got to work. It took a while but within an hour I had my slow cooker working away in the corner of the kitchen.
I went back upstairs, waited about an hour and then came down and grabbed my lunch. K was nowhere to be seen this time, so I had a few of the leftovers in the fridge.
I had a fairly good and quiet afternoon. I watched something off the DVR that I had recorded on the weekend, and began tackling a bit of my “pile” of stuff that I keep meaning to go through, but never do. I found a few things that I didn’t know I had (a lovely necklace, a couple of misplaced Christmas presents from a year ago. Oops. I threw out a few things and rearranged a few other things. Hopefully, I’ll be able to do more on Wednesday.
I went down to the kitchen around 6 pm and got into my dinner prep. I was going great guns until my delivery came to the door. However, I’d been waiting for it, so I didn’t mind too much. I paid at the door and then put the package off to the side to look at later.
Tonight for dinner we had chicken done in the slow cooker with some veggies. I made mashed potatoes and turned the liquid from the slow cooker into a gravy. We had that with salad, cucumber pickle, and the extra veggies from the slow cooker.
Everyone ate quite a bit, although F didn’t want as much food as I gave him. There are leftovers though, so they might get served up tomorrow night as I don’t really have any set plans for dinner!
It took about an hour to wash and dry all the dishes and put them away afterwards. It gets a bit much to be in a hot kitchen without any help or air conditioning. I was soaked when I was done.
I went upstairs, F came a bit later. He was quiet, so was I. I took a shower again later as I really felt I needed it today. I didn’t have the air conditioner on all the time today, just a bit in the afternoon. It’s not on now, although I would have liked it.
After my shower, I watched The Good Wife and did a few rows of crochet. I’m hoping to go to bed in a little while so that I can be fresh and awake in my classes tomorrow!
