Wednesday - Overcast and cold, some rain

I had my usual morning, but I did manage to get dressed a few minutes early for a change. I got breakfast and ate, I watched last night’s Shameless and after a bit went downstairs and grabbed lunch.

During lunch, I put on The Professor and the Madman, a film about the making of the Oxford English Dictionary.  It had Mel Gibson and Sean Penn in it. I had read the book a few years ago when I had my own school and it was so interesting. The movie was too, a little slow in places, but overall quite good. Afterwards, when I was looking it up on IMDb for my movie list, I was surprised to see that there was a fight between the original director and the production company, and Gibson refused to promote the film.

F called while I was watching the film and I was rather surprised. I was watching the film and also prepping for one of my lessons next week. I had no idea how late it was.

I went downstairs and got a start on dinner. I had decided to cook the stirfry tonight instead of tomorrow night. It took a bit of work, especially since I also made a kabocha-tuna salad too. F came back and seemed fine. He was a bit tired, same as usual. He went upstairs and I got busy again.

I was a bit late getting dinner on the table, but then again, I didn’t get any help from anyone as usual. I got stuff set out and I called F to come down. He came, with his computer in tow. He put it on the dinner table. I suggested that he put some food on his plate.

I came back from the kitchen and he was playing with his phone. He hadn’t taken any food nor had he given his mother any. I once again suggested he take some food and he went off on me. Apparently, he was getting a message from his work at that exact second and he couldn’t understand it or something. He stormed off.

I had a nice dinner with K. She didn’t say too much but did have seconds, so I guess that was good. After I finished I went off to the kitchen to get the dishes done. It took a while, but I got them done. I finished up the movie podcast, so if I cook tomorrow I’ll be able to go back to my book on the Librivox app.

I did the garbage up when I finished the dishes. I also swapped out the sponges today because they were getting horrible. I’ve decided that I’m going to buy lots of sponges and just swap them out when they get gross. I’d rather use a dishcloth, and I do use the one I’ve made for most of the dishes, but for cleaning the stove or cleaning really dirty pans, I’d rather use something else.

I put the garbage in the genkan for F tomorrow and then I went upstairs. He was still angry with me but did tell me that he got his message from work. I asked him if he’d take out the garbage in the morning and he said he would.  I bagged up my garbage and told F that I didn’t have space for his stuff this time. Usually, we share a garbage bag, but I did a little tidying up this week. I took my garbage downstairs and put it in the genkan too.

F went downstairs and got himself something to eat. From the noise, I assume it was noodles. Where I grew up, if you didn’t eat the food that was offered, you just didn’t eat.

He didn’t really talk to me, so I have shut myself in my part of the room. I watched Grey’s Anatomy with the volume down really low. There were still few grumbles from his part of the room. Too bad. I’ve been watching some YouTube ever since my show finished.

Tomorrow I have to plan another lesson and see what else I can get up to! Maybe I’ll take myself out if I get the chance. These days I hardly get out of the house. It’ll depend on whether the weather is okay or not. Today was cold. F and I have both put blankets on our bed for tonight.

Anyway, that’s it for me. I hope that F is in a better mood tomorrow. I’m getting rather tired of his little tantrums all the time.

Come back later if you will and hear all about my day. Until tomorrow….
