Sunday - Rainy and cool
I just decided to sleep late this morning since I had gone to bed so late. No biggie since we had no plans. I think that F had gotten up to see his sister this morning. She came over to take their mother to her house.
When I did wake up this morning, F announced that he found some money. Woot. Not his wallet, but a bit of money. Anyway, he asked if I wanted to go and see a movie and of course the answer was yes!
I wanted to see the new Jason Statham film, but Dune was in town too. I didn’t know if F would like it or not, so I suggested that we make the final decision after we got to the mall. If we were delayed it might not be easy to get to an earlier show.
We drove out to the mall and parked. We went in and went to the cinema. The mall was busy! Tons of people were trying to get into restaurants and both of us were surprised. We really shouldn’t have been as where else can you go when the weather is bad?
We bought our tickets to see Wrath of Man and then went to have lunch. We went to the food court near the cinema and after hanging around for a moment to get a table, ordered some food. F had food from the udon place. He had curry rice and udon with meat. It was too much for him really. I had a pork kimchi bibinba and really enjoyed that.
Then, we went to the cinema. We did get some popcorn and drinks, they’ve finally brought back the large popcorn so we shared one. We went into the theatre, found our seats and did washroom runs.
The movie, Wrath of Man, was good. It was directed by Guy Ritchie. I don’t always like his stuff, I sometimes find his films annoying, but I liked this one. It was a very violent film…basically, H (Statham) is hunting for someone or something and we don’t really know what's going on for a while. I enjoyed it a lot. F said he did too, but he really isn’t into violent action movies like I am!
After the movie, we walked down the mall. I was looking for something for my sister’s birthday present and I found something. Woot.
I suggested that we go for a drink at Mr Donut and F was okay with that. When we got near the food area, F saw a sign for taiyaki with chestnut filling so he wanted that. He got in that line and I went over to Mr Donut and bought our cafe-au-lait. We had finished our taiyaki before our coffees arrived, but it was still nice to relax and enjoy ourselves.
We discussed what to do before we went back to Tsuruoka. We wanted to get F’s mother something for dinner and also do our grocery shopping for the night.
We drove into Tsuruoka and went to our usual grocery store. We toured the store and didn’t find any nice bentos so didn’t buy them. I did get some stuff for dinner for the next couple of nights so that was good.
F got K a nice bento from the good bento shop and then we went back to the house. F gave her the bento and we went upstairs and relaxed for a while.
Around 8:30 or so we went out to Cocos. I had some spicy Caribbean chicken and a baked potato, F had a seafood soup thing that he was ambivalent about. We finished and then came back to the house.
For the rest of the evening, we just relaxed. I have had to have the heater on tonight as the room was only 15 degrees when we came back. F is sleeping now I think and I want to get to bed soon too.
Come back later if you like and hear all about my Monday. Until tomorrow….
